18.01.2022 Butler's Garage (Kulin Motor Museum) Location: Lot 87 Johnston Street, Kulin Completed Construction Date: 1936 History: Butlers Garage is a significant piece of... Kulin’s Heritage, particularly that’s associated with the development of the agricultural industry and thus the identity of the region. The architecture of the building is a fine example of construction during the Depression years. During the mid 1920's WM Butler & Co of Wickepin established a machinery agency business in Kulin. In the late 1920's WH (Bill) Butler (WM's son) established in Kulin and took over the agency, developing it further with the construction of the garage on this site. The agencies functioned continuously right up until 1994. A dedicated, ingenious and talented group of men and women then embarked upon restoring the garage and the building now houses the Kulin Motor Museum and a replica Pioneer’s cottage, amongst other gems notably the extraordinary volunteers who currently open the doors to locals and visitors every Wednesday and Saturday from 10.00am 2.00pm. 12.01.2022 HOMEMADE TRACTOR MUSEUM: The Lake King farm tractor museum was officially opened at the weekend but these aren't your usual tractors. Each has been hand-made, cobbled together by local farmers in the 1970's and 80's as a cheap way to get more horsepower.
