23.01.2022 Who loves salted caramel?Caramel is pretty awesome as is, but then you add a pinch of salt and it's amazing! Do yourself a favour and blend up this beauty as a treat! INGREDIENTS 2 frozen bananas, coarsely chopped 8 raw cashews, coarsely chopped... 6 fresh dates, pitted, chopped 2 cups (500ml) Unsweetened Almond Milk Pinch of salt 2 tablespoons Crunchy Peanut Butter (make your own in the omni) 2 cups ice cubes Chopped banana, extra, to serve (optional) Cashew, extra, to serve (optional) Date, extra, to serve (optional) METHOD Step 1 Place banana, cashew, date, almond milk, salt, peanut butter and ice in a blender and blend until smooth. Protein, collagen, medicinal mushrooms? Here is a simple berry smoothie with added wheat germ. Wheat germ is high in vitamin E, an essential nutrient with antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are believed to decrease free radicals in the body, which protects you from some diseases. Research suggests that whole... grains can reduce the risk of heart disease and help you maintain a healthy weight. White bread is made using flour that has had the germ and bran removed. You can add wheat germ to any smoothie you like. Here is a simple recipe with berries and bananas. 1 ripe banana 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries 1 cup almond milk 2 teaspoons of wheat germ 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt (or coconut if vegan) 1 teaspoon honey Add all the ingredients into your Omni and blend on high until smooth (approx 30 seconds). 22.01.2022 Blackberry and Banana smoothie bowl INGREDIENTS 2 bananas 125g fresh blackberries or frozen blackberries... 1/2 cup (140g) coconut yoghurt 1/2 cup (125ml) Sanitarium So Good Unsweetened Almond Milk 1 cup ice cubes 1 cup (130g) Sanitarium Granola Clusters Vanilla & Almond 100g fresh blackberries or frozen blackberries, extra 1/2 cup (50g) shredded coconut, toasted METHOD Step 1 Thinly slice 1/2 banana. Coarsely chop remaining 1 1/2 bananas. Place the chopped banana in a blender. Add the blackberries, coconut yoghurt, almond milk, ice and 3/4 cup (95g) of the granola. Blend until smooth. 18.01.2022 Recipe Pancakes have to be the most requested breakfast in our house. We have them as a treat on the weekends, but honestly they are so quick and easy in the Omni I could make them any day of the week! These ones are fully loaded with added oats and topped with fresh strawberries, yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup! Yuuuuum! Ok so here's the recipe, hope you love it! ... Banana and oat pancakes INGREDIENTS 2 cups (180g) rolled oats 3 ripe bananas, chopped 3 Free Range Eggs 1 cup (250ml) milk 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp baking powder 2/3 cup (190g) vanilla-flavoured yoghurt 250g strawberries, thinly sliced 2 tbs maple syrup 1 tbs Pistachios, chopped METHOD Step 1 Place oats, banana, eggs, milk, vanilla and baking powder in a blender and blend until smooth. Rest for 10 mins. Step 2 Lightly spray a large non-stick frying pan with olive oil spray. Place over medium-low heat. Pour four cup (60ml) portions of batter into pan. Cook for 1-2 mins or until bubbles appear on surface of pancakes. Turn and cook for a further 1 min or until cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Cover with foil to keep warm. Repeat, in batches, with remaining batter to make 16 pancakes. Step 3 Divide the pancakes among serving plates. Top with the yoghurt and strawberry. Drizzle with the maple syrup. INGREDIENTS 1kg (about 8) ripe tomatoes, quartered... 1 small red onion, chopped 2 teaspoons olive oil 2 garlic cloves 125ml (1/2 cup) vegetable liquid stock, plus extra, if needed 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano or basil, plus extra, to serve (optional) 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives 1 small baguette, thinly sliced 20g (1/4 cup) finely grated parmesan METHOD Step 1 Place the tomato and onion in a high-powered blender or food processor. Process until smooth. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the garlic for 30 seconds. Step 2 Pour in tomato mixture and stock. Stir for 5-7 minutes or until heated through. INGREDIENTS 1 Arnotts Granita biscuit, crushed 1/2 cup (120g) spreadable cream cheese 2 strawberries, thinly sliced lengthways 250g frozen strawberries 1 cup (280g) vanilla yoghurt 1/2 cup (125ml) milk 1/4 cup (30g) toasted muesli or granola METHOD Place the biscuit on a small plate. Spread a little of the cream cheese around the rim of each glass. Dip the rim in the biscuit to coat. Our citrus trees were a little late to the game this winter, but we finally have some delicious juicy oranges and mandies! Try this recipe using any citrus fruit you like. Ingredients... 3-4 oranges, peeled 3 lemons, peeled 3 Mandarins, peeled Directions Place all ingredients into your Omniblend in the order listed and secure the lid. Start on low, slowly increase to high, and run for 45 seconds to 1 minute using the tamper to press the ingredients down into the blade. Strain using a strainer or squuse through your nutmilk bag. Taking time to reflect on the state of the world and feeling the need to spend more time with family and take stock. We have been operating right through the pandemic, albeit on skeleton staff and we really appreciate everyones support and patience during this time. Thank you to all our lovely customers especially our friends in hospitality who have been doing it tough. I'm back in ...the office and have been wanting to share some more recipes with you all! Even though we live in sunny Byron Bay, winter has well and truely arrived! We have a banging veggie garden growing this year and have just harvested our first pumpkin! So to celebrate here is a super easy and delicious Winter Warming Pumpkin Soup recipe! INGREDIENTS 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra to serve 1 onion, roughly chopped 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped 600g pumpkin, peeled, chopped 1 potato, chopped 2 carrots, chopped 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 3 cups (750ml) liquid stock (Veg or chicken) 1/2 cup (125ml) pure cream 1 tablespoon pepitas. METHOD Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft. Add garlic, vegetables and nutmeg and stir through. Add stock and 2 cups (500ml) water, then bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 25 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Cool slightly. In batches, transfer into your Omniblend and blend until smooth. Return soup to the saucepan and place over low heat. Stir in cream, then season. To serve drizzle over some olive oil and pepitas. 06.01.2022 Raspberry Ice Block anyone? How gorgeous do these look? I know my kids are always requesting ice blocks after school. We love making our own. It's a fun activity, plus you know exactly whats in them. ... Make them with any fruit that you like. Simply blend up a smoothie with your favourite fruits. It can be dairy based or milk free. Once you have a smooth consistency, simply pour into your ice block moulds and add your paddle pop sticks. (We also use silicon moulds that a stick free, shaped like a calypso). Freeze until set solid (usually 4 hours) and enjoy! Happy blending! Mix it up, add whatever your favourites are and make yourself a delicious breakfast, lunch or whatever! Strawberry Smoothie Bowl ... INGREDIENTS 250g strawberries, hulled, halved, frozen 1 cup crushed ice 1/2 cup (140g) Greek-style yoghurt 1/4 cup (20g) rolled oats 2 tablespoons honey 8 small fresh mint leaves 100g strawberries, extra, thinly sliced crossways 2 tablespoons granola 2 tablespoons shaved or shredded coconut 2 tablespoons natural sliced almonds 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds Honey, extra, to drizzle METHOD Step 1 In a blender, place the frozen strawberries, ice, yoghurt, oats, honey, half the mint leaves and a pinch of salt. Add 1/4 cup (60ml) water and blend until smooth. Step 2 Divide the strawberry mixture between 2 shallow bowls. Top with the sliced strawberries, granola, coconut and almonds.
