20.01.2022 We currently have a vacancy in our Meals Services Team - Forster, for a Kitchen Hand. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Kitchen Hand who will work in our Great Lakes branch located in Forster. The successful candidate will be reliable, energetic, flexible and have a caring and compassionate personality, and be willing to work with a wide range of people. You will be involved with client and volunteer liaison on a daily basis. Those willing to learn the administra...tion side of kitchen operation will be well regarded. The work involves food handling working with frozen meals and/or in a freezer room. Food Safety qualifications are not essential but the willingness to undertake such training is required. It is envisaged that this role will have variable hours approximately 12 hours per week, however availability for additional days/hours to cover staff leave is required. Hours will be Monday to Friday, No evening and no weekend work. Selection Criteria: 1. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook. 2. Sound verbal and written communication skills. 3. Ability to work with minimal supervision. 4. Ability to work well under pressure. 5. Good time management skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines. 6. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a team environment. 7. High level organisational skills and attention to detail. 8. Knowledge of EEO and WHS principles and working within risk management frameworks. 9. Current driver’s licence. 10. Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and a commitment to continuous improvement. 17.01.2022 Hastings Port Macquarie Meals Services client Garnet (main photo) has taken contactless delivery of some of our delicious wares. In keeping with Covid Safe measures across Omnicare's operations, our volunteers now use fold-up stools to make it convenient for clients to pick up their meals while maintaining physical distancing. This brainwave came from Andy (inset photo), a volunteer who helps out five times a month at the branch.
