25.01.2022 "A healer's power stems not from any special ability, but from maintaining the courage and awareness to embody and express the universal healing power that every human being naturally possesses." -- Eric Micha'el Leventhal One thing I have learned over my years as a teacher is that everyone has a far greater ability to heal than they believe. In fact, no matter at which point we are at with our healing, I'm sure we are all near the beginning of our potential.... So the key is to keep opening ourselves up to more and more of our innate ability, to never believe that we have reached our peak. Shine brightly, Jeremy

24.01.2022 "It's not how many hours you practise, but what you put into those hours." To be honest, it is also the hours you put into things, but a sheer quantity of hours doesn't guarantee success or even improvement in any endeavour. Think of someone you know who has practised a hobby for 20, 30 or even 40 years, and you'll probably find they haven't got a lot better than they were after, say, five years of practice.... So to get better, you need a certain kind of practice, what has been called 'deliberate' practice. Deliberate practice is strategic. It's methodical. And quite often, it requires more effort than regular practice. It is the kind of practice that will have you doing musical scales rather than just mucking about with a tune. In general, for success in an art (meditation, tennis, painting whatever), you need three things: 1) Lots of practice (measured in terms of hours). 2) Consistent practice (daily tends to be best). 3) 'Deliberate' practice. Put the three elements together and you'll consistently improve at your craft. To go much deeper into this topic, take a look at my article 'The Art of Deliberate Practice'. It will be up on my website for another few days. You can read it by visiting: www.om-reiki.com.au/reiki-article-of-week.html

23.01.2022 2021 Jan. 9-10 Meditation and Reiki Retreat If you've been to an Om Reiki retreat, you have a fair idea what they are like. If not, it's a chance to meet positive, like-minded people. A chance to enjoy super-charged group healing. A place to experience new and powerful meditations for clearing blocks and enhancing your inner energetic state. 18.01.2022 Sometimes it is not so much what we do, but what we don't do that matters. Sometime back, I made a list of things that diminish chi. I've just fleshed this concept out in a video '6 Common Ways People Lose Chi (Ki) and What They Can Do about It. Avoid these chi-depleting traps, and you're well on your way to more powerful Reiki, better meditation, greater clarity and wellbeing.... To take a look at the video and let me know what you think, visit: https://youtu.be/7em-aX7laW8 Enjoy the sunshine, Jeremy

17.01.2022 I've just finished a new YouTube video: 'What Should You Feel During a Reiki Session?' The video explores the most common Reiki sensations you will experiences during a session (hot, cold, pain, etc.), and discusses what many of them mean. It also gives you tips on what you should focus on when receiving Reiki. Enjoy the video and have a sunny weekend,... Jeremy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bsyhyZESEQ&t=1s

16.01.2022 There is a thing called a 'happiness set point'. It's the level of happiness you always seem to gravitate back towards. Sure, sometimes something extra good happens and you rise above it. At other times bad things happen and you fall below it, but given time, you pretty well always gravitate back to it.... They have found this to be the case with people who have won the lotto, who have lost a limb, got a divorce - whatever. Naturally, there will be exceptions, but it is a curious phenomenon nonetheless, and if we understand it, it might also help us to better live for the moment. Because if no external events ever lead to any lasting change in happiness, then we may as well make the most of the moment rather than looking towards the future to improve our lot. Improving our happiness set point isn't about changing external fortunes, but making a fundamental shift inside. Be well and shine brightly, Jeremy

16.01.2022 We all know that music can help with meditation, but often we go for 'Reiki music' or 'chakra music', or something specifically made for meditating. But classical music is often also great for getting the chi flowing, and one of my favourite pieces for this purpose is the uber-famous 'Four Seasons' by Vivaldi. Have a listen to it and see if it doesn't help your chi flow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRxofEmo3HA... Be well and shine brightly, Jeremy

15.01.2022 Reiki Practice Night - This Wednesday! This Wednesday (7.30pm - 9pm), we are going to spend the entire night working on the Reiki precepts. They are one of the five pillars of Reiki, and great for clearing energy blocks, expanding our energy field and setting the tone for a positive and balanced day. I'll be going through several different techniques for getting the most out of them, and it will be an opportunity to go more deeply into them than I do at any of my courses.... So come and practice this vital component of Usui's Reiki system. You'll leave with new tools to deepen your practice. To find out more and sign up, visit https://www.meetup.com/omreikigroup/events/274563878/ Be well and shine brightly, Jeremy

13.01.2022 Don't Protect Yourself When Giving Reiki! This is the subject of my YouTube video this week. It's an important topic for anyone who finds that they sometimes get 'slimed' when healing others and feel that just to be safe they'd better protect themselves before a Reiki session. Naturally, it's controversial. But have a watch and see what you think.... To take a look, visit https://youtu.be/Lh7xN5PjUZE

08.01.2022 A lot of Reiki practitioners try too hard. They strain to get their healing to work. They visualize this that and the other thing to 'improve' their healing session. They overcomplicate things. I've just created a video on this topic ('Improve Your Reiki by Doing Less'), and it explains not only why when it comes to Reiki healing, 'less is more', but also why you will actually increase the power of your healing by letting go and trying less. It also explains why some of you m...ight be growing tired when you give Reiki sessions. On this note, from now on, I'll be making 1-2 videos a week. So subscribe to my YouTube channel to learn about them as they come out, and if you like what you see, please give it a 'thumbs up' to help other Reiki healers find my work. 06.01.2022 Reiki Practice Night - Nov. 4 - 'Entering the Reiki Flow' When you hit the Reiki sweet spot, giving feels like receiving. When you dive into the 'Reiki flow', joy, wisdom, and intuition come naturally to you.... It is a place where your body thrums with high-vibrational energy, where you feel charged and inspired to extract the maximum out of your life. This Meetup, we will practice techniques for hitting the Reiki 'sweet spot' when healing others, and we will also practice the art of receiving (which, believe me, is an art!). The Meetup will once again be held online via Zoom, and you can find out more and sign up by visiting: https://www.meetup.com/omreikigroup/events/274200131/ So come and join us. Take part in the energy, and leave inspired. Shine brightly, Jeremy

03.01.2022 The mind really is like a machine. As the saying goes: 'garbage in, garbage out'. So one reason it can be hard to slow our mind is because we keep pumping it with crap (TV shows, news, Internet articles, etc.) that swirl about in our head long after the 'entertainment' ends. It easy to fall into the habit of 'relaxing' by watching something. But everything has its price. So your mind is like your body. You can eat crap, and it might even taste good, but there will be a price... paid somewhere down the line. Good to remember this before we indulge in our next form of entertainment. What we feed our mind will need to be processed, and this can waste a lot of precious mental / emotional energy. Be well and shine brightly, Jeremy

03.01.2022 There is a saying that if you want to be successful, see what the masses are doing and then do the opposite. I'm not sure this is always the case, but there is definitely some truth to it. If you disagree, just think back to our recent toilet paper crisis. How stupid does that seem now? So if you ever feel embarrassed to be doing something that goes against the norm, remember how the masses acted at the start of our COVID journey. Then, just maybe, you won't feel so uncomfort...able anymore. Be well and have fun, Jeremy
