17.01.2022 * PP vs PET Strapping - which is best for your application? * Polypropylene (PP) strapping is lightweight, economical and water-resistant. And PP is VERY flexible, which means it has the ability to move with the strapped pack without breaking. The breaking strength of PP strapping is lower than that of PET strapping, so its more suitable for light- to medium-duty applications eg. carton closing, paper bundling, and bailing. Polyester (PET) strapping is better suited to hea...vy loads because it has a high breaking strength. Applications include bricks, tiles and timber. And PET strapping is a great alternative to steel strapping (which was the "old" standard for such applications) because it is light-weight, safer to handle, and water and corrosive-resistant.
