24.01.2022 Yes it was an epic fail-a humiliating fall. Let's face it: Nobody likes to be embarrassed this way. I was attempting a handstand on the top edge of a garden bench. Having done it a couple of times before, a friend asked me to do it again so that he can take a photo of me which I can post on my Instagram. Trying to pose for that perfect shot, I lost my concentration and landed on the concrete with a deep gash on my head and a disloca...ted shoulder. I absolutely agree that it is total stupidity, unnecessary and irresponsible beyond words to risk an injury for some worthless validation in the form likes but sometimes we all do things we know we shouldn't. Many moon years ago when I first started practicing inversions I knew very little about the technique or the skill required for getting into and holding an inverted posture such as one legged crow pose or a handstand. All I knew was that it looked cool, awesome and I wanted to be able to do it. With persistence and consistent practice and after many failed repetitions and frustrating attempts, I finally became quite adept at it. Our lives are filled with hardships, heart breaks, upsets , massive challenges and pain. Sometimes its’s hard to keep going, to push through all of the pain & despair. Giving up seems to be an easy option but quitting can have lasting effects- such as a feeling of inadequacy, lack of self-belief , it can deplete us emotionally, mentally and physically. We shouldn’t allow a little thing like failure to get us down.Majority of the people who fail or are unsuccessful are not actually defeated. They simply quit, they just give up.Look at the word F.A.I.L as your FIRST ATTEMPT IN LEARNING.
