23.01.2022 Repairing the fishing net whilst steaming into port after 2 weeks at sea. The boat has a good haul of flathead onboard also various other species like gummy shark, blue grenideer(hoki) and bight redfish ... All fish are sent on a refrigerated truck and the majority with arrive at different states fishing markets in the days to come



22.01.2022 Species - Unknown Very similar characteristics to a gar fish or a pike although with a soft/clear translucent skin that individual organs and it's skeletal bones are noticeable. They also big eyes to help with finding prey in the darkness in deeper water. We only saw them in the one deeper shot we did for the trip trawling in 620m

14.01.2022 Species - Angel Shark Common along the coastline but can also be found in deeper water like this one caught in 450m They are mostly nocturnal and spend their time hiding just below the surface in the mud or sand. They use the bioluminescent of plankton to see their prey... Angel Sharks are also solitary creatures except during mating season. They typically mate in the Springtime in warmer waters.

04.01.2022 Species - Unknown Caught last fishing trip trawling in 550m of water of the east coast contintental shelf. This fella had a very hard bumps but also a soft jelly like skin.
