22.01.2022 Census figures released today reveal a shocking 116,427 Australians are homeless, triggering calls for a national strategy to tackle the crisis. Story: https://yhoo.it/2FQXvwP #7News

22.01.2022 Cafe Edge is a Not for Profit Cafe in Beenleigh. This Is very much a Fundraiser, for "The Homeless", and Those "Those At Risk" in The Community. It's a classic... case of the poor, supporting the poor. Cafe' Edge needs the support to train, their untrained staff so that they might safely continue to help the Beenleigh Community. However, The Cafe Edge receives no Support or Grants from Local Council, or Brisbane Council. Consider Those Serving And Entertaining You When You Visit Cafe Edge. Perhaps, Consider Leaving Them A Tip. These people Are Serving And Entertaining You For Nothing. After all, They Have Nothing But Their Time To Donate. So They Help The Helpless In Their own way. Also, They too, might well be facing hardship. The Cafe' Edge donates all monies made, (after expenses) helping those in need and, those at risk in the Community. https://www.facebook.com/CafeEdge/

20.01.2022 This is one of the very first people that i helped in 1997.. in the streets of Logan he was homeless and an alcoholic. And very skinny couldn't hold his head up. Today he is traveling around australia he is very talented and paints aboriginal paintings on canvas hats shoes and his new creative one is carving sticks and makes them walking sticks. He sells them on his walk abouts. He pops in every year and sees me. Letting me know about his journey. Its all about helping people UP in there darkest hour. Loving them, believing in them and watching them change. All glory be to God.. Its ..not about maintaining them in the darkest hour. Its about helping them rise up out of it..

20.01.2022 Just want to take you on a journey of what we do at On The Edge..we have a lot of successful stories over the 25yrs of helping people that were Homeless... This... is just one.. We first met him out on Street Edge, which patrols the streets late at night, while most of you are sleeping. This is Algie, he was homeless in Logan and an alcoholic. He lived at the back of the shopping centre in cardboard boxes. He didn't talk much, however he was very grateful that we were there, late at night, on the streets to help meet his needs. We initially found him at the shops riding his push bike, in the rain on his way home, well to what, he called home at the time, which was the shops. We stayed most of the night chatting with him, hearing his story and why he was homeless. Algie, at the time, had warrants out for his arrest among other things. We kept going to his home late at night until he got familiar with us and we established trust. He soon realised that he could trust us and we were there, not for our own gain, but to truly help. He sang songs from his heart, he laughed with us, we prayed with him and we built a friendship. Next, he wanted to give himself over to the police and sort out his life. He was put in jail and served his time, during which time, we kept in contact and wrote and visited him to keep him encouraged. On his release we were there to pick him up and found a place for him to stay, sorted out all his identification and assisted him through the process of leading a normal functioning life. Thereafter he came out on Street edge and helped us search for others like himself. He enjoyed helping others. He is an amazing artist, we encouraged him to follow his passion and start painting his indigenous artwork. Algie then started to seek work and earnt enough money to buy a camper van. He loves traveling, so off he went to enjoy life and catch up with his family around Australia. He pops in when he's in town, in the photo below he is proudly showing us his new creative idea, which he sells as he goes from place to place. He finds sticks in the bush and turns them into a work of art. As you can see the before and after photo. This is why we do what we do, if we were not out there, at night, building friendships he may have not received the help he needed. As you can see from this one journey it is providing constant help, building trust and being there with people until they're ready to fly in this world on their own. I just want to thank God for helping us help him.. If you would like to join our team and this is something you would like to be apart of we are always in need of volunteers please contact us and help us help people.

15.01.2022 These photos are a while ago, we have done so much through the years in this community, youth events to school breakfasts in 5 schools, mentor groups, the cave, and much more.. We are at present feeding the homeless for free always everything was for free for our community. We have shower facilities, fresh clothes, and a friendly face, we do not maintain them but build friendships and help them up and back to living loving life again. We have many success stories, and a... few tragic stories were our friends didn't make it.. We have a lack in this community and we are trying our best to fill it, I can't work any harder for this community than i already am.. I need financial help, I need a house to help support this homeless community. If anyone can help in any way possible either with funding submission or financially please message me. Thank you for taking the time to read this post

11.01.2022 BUSINESS WITH A HEART Congratulations Cafe Edge @ Beenleigh for making such a massive difference. 10.01.2022 Gone without understanding, last breath heard and it's over. I can't say this will be my last post for a while, but maybe the last of meaning, love you all! Cer...tainly, in the most difficult moments of life you realize who are real friends or people who really appreciate you. Unfortunately, some friends will click on "I like" but in reality they don't take time to read your status if they see it's long. I decided to post this message to a very special person for me who fought to the end with firmness and energy. Who taught us to live every day as if it were the best day! Who filled the world with a beautiful smile and a sweet spirit. Now I look at those who will have time to read this post until the end (I think I'll guess the first 5). Cancer is very invasive and destructive to our body, even after the end of treatment, your body always fights with yourself trying to rebuild all damage caused by radiation. It's a very long process. (100 % true) Please, in honor of a family member or friend who died, or still fights against cancer, or even had cancer but it is healed; copy and paste (not share) in your page . So I'll know who read my status, please write "done" in the comments. See more
