23.01.2022 ZONE 11 NEWS By Noel James PENNANTS: As we all know by now, all bowls has been suspended indefinitely by Bowls NSW due to the Coronavirus. This is unprecedented, but necessary in the current climate, and is effecting a host of different sports. The resumption of pennants, zone and club championships is yet to be determined, and may not happen again this year. 06.01.2022 ZONE SIX REPORT By Greg D'Arcy, Publicity Officer What an eventful last week. On Tuesday 17th March Bowls Australia & Bowls NSW issued a statement saying all Association Events have been suspended indefinitely because of the spread Coronavirus (Covd-19). This means that all Zone Championships, Pennants & any other Zone Event have been suspended. ... We ask all Clubs & Players to be patient during these trying times. Furthermore we urge each individual Club to keep monitoring the situation for further developments. On the positive side the JUNIORS were able to complete their Singles Championship. The result being: Winner: Chloe Appleby (Kurri); Runner Up: Luke Robson (East Cessnock) By winning this event Chloe has won The Kallan Egar Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the Winner. Chloe also joins her brother Tailor who won this award in 2016, 2017 & 2018. Congratulations to both finalists and all other Juniors who participated. Finally during the week Tuesday 10th March to Sunday 16th March the State Interzone Carnival for both Seniors & Open Divisions. In the Seniors our Zone was successful in making the Quarter Finals & the Open Side made the Semi Finals. Congratulations to all Players as this overall was the best result achieved by our Zone for quite some time. That’s it for this Month but repeat all Cubs & players please keep monitoring the situation for further developments for Bowls due to Covid-19. Thanking you all for your patience.
