20.01.2022 Preparing for a School ProductionRemotely For any teachers who were planning on running a production for Grade 6 students to help celebrate the end of primary school rest assured you can still make this happen. Here’s a few steps to help get you started:... Choose a production Send through a copy to each student Send through a list of characters and ask them to choose which one they would like to audition for Start auditions Choose students for each character My experience with productions is: when production starts it takes the place of any PA class that the grade 6’s have. You will be able to start rehearsal remotely with your students. Read through script Discuss characters and how they should be portrayed Plan ahead the movements that you want each character to make on the stage and have the students put these moves into their scripts. This way they will be ready for rehearsal when remote schooling finishes in August. Start reading through the script just as you would in rehearsal. This will work trust me. If you require assistance in implementing the above steps this is exactly what I do! I’ve been running school productions for the past 30 years. 03.01.2022 A drama activity to stimulate the imagination! Activities using puppets are always popular with young kids. Equipment required: Hand Puppets... Activity Description: - Spread puppets out on the floor. I get students choose which one they would like and ask them to make up a story about their puppet. They then present it to their classmates. For students learning remotely using a sock as a puppet that students could perhaps decorate would be a great option. #teachersofinsta #teachersofinstagram #teachers followteachers #tft #activitiesforkids #teachersofig #dramaforkids #performingarts
