22.01.2022 My first session with these guys was over Zoom for a first introduction into puppy ownership. On our second consult we just spent the session out in the sun showing them how to get Luna's recall reflexive. Her speed in returning to get her reward showed me that they were putting in the time that was required to build a strong and confident dog. 21.01.2022 Ok so today I went and met up with these guys for their 2nd session to show them how to walk their guy on lead and to do a recall session aswell. He's made so much progress in 2 weeks and guess what?.... No dog run was needed . There was a really great park near by so we went there to take him out. I put him on my 10m long line to give him a little freedom and in doing so it meant I still had things under control. This was more to show his owners how being Relaxed AND! Proactive NOT! Reactive would benefit both parties, let's just say that both parties were fulfilled and really enjoyed the outing. I could feel the relief in the family after our session and that is why I'm a Dog Trainer!

20.01.2022 Social Responsibility! There is alot going on in this clip that im super proud of. There are Soccer games going on around both sides of me, there is random food lying around (he investigated but chose not to), people everywhere, greeting kids nicely, a person on a picnic rug with food, another person down on his level that he totally ignored, other dogs off lead only meters away from him and a Rock Solid Recall. To say im proud of him is a understatement. Its been a very long road that is still going and probably always will, but that's what owning a well balanced dog is all about. There's times where he still embarrasses me in public but that's just another opportunity to work on things and for him to get better at it.

17.01.2022 RANT WARNING! Late yesterday afternoon I went out West to see this young guy (10 month old husky) and his owners. This was the family's first dog and they had gotten some really, really poor advice from another trainer, who's motive seemed to be more about selling a dog run to them (+$2000.00 worth) rather than showing them how to properly interact with this beauty. They were also told once the run was installed to put the dog in there for a month and not pat, or interact wit...h him at all. What this advice could've done to this dog could've been catastrophic This made me feel sick in the stomach and somewhat angry. The problem was he had No direction, No structure, No Fulfillment . So after showing the guys how to play with their dog, How to reward the good behaviour and importantly, how to appropriately punish the bad behaviour we made some progress and we've set up a training plan over the next few weeks to rectify the problems that had surfaced. I'm so glad they were referred to me before they made the choice to cage this dog. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a dog run, they can be extremely useful, but to put him in there to "QUOTE, DEHUMANISE HIM" was ridiculous to put it nicely. So if that trainer is out there and ever reads this post..... go give yourself an uppercut mate! #dogtraining #husky See more

This little girl will be going for her Public Access test and be her young handlers left hand girl and be with him and support him in every part of his life. Today's session with Lexi was all about installing commands and showing her what it actually is that her owners want, with a little exposure to her triggers thrown in aswell. She's a very playfull pup but highly food motivated and that really helps when trying to train new behaviours. 07.01.2022 Jack getting somewhere he can just chill and eat his daily meal, not always searching for his own source of entertainment. Enriching your dogs relationship with its daily food is a great way to help control those destructive behaviours. Another way is to train new behaviours with their daily food as well. 04.01.2022 I got to meet 8 week old Finn today and induct him into the OCDT fam. All seemed to be going quite well in the home so far. His family had their house set up on point nice work guys. He picked up the training concept like a star, he made me look as though I knew a thing or 2. I look forward to coming back and seeing a well socialised and balanced pup in a few weeks.
