25.01.2022 Coronavirus is having a huge impact in the communities we work with in Kenya too. For many, shut down streets mean their businesses which they rely on to feed their families have closed, and it's becoming harder to put food on the table. This weekend we partnered with our good friends Actions Not Words to deliver food packages for 93 families struggling during this difficult time. We set up a hand washing station and provided masks for everyone collecting their food, including Pauline, a single mother to 6 children who was very grateful to be part of the distribution. 11.01.2022 We've received permission to re-open our offices in Nakuru, and our fantastic vocational tailoring students have been hard at work making 500 masks for the local community.
07.01.2022 A few photos from a graduation ceremony that we held for our inhouse tailoring students yesterday. All our students made their own beautiful graduation gowns as well! They will sit their formal exam next year but we want to do something to recognise them completing their training with us. We brought our other vocational students along to attend as well.
06.01.2022 In partnership with Actions Not Words, yesterday we organised our second food drop for the local community in Nakuru, distributing 10kg of maize flour, 5kg of rice, 5kg of cooking oil, 2kg of chapati flour and 2kg of beans to 92 families in need. The food was met with many thanks from a number of mothers who would otherwise be facing food shortages.
