22.01.2022 Recent weeks have taken me to limits of positivity and faith that all will be ok. A diagnosis of cancer is never easy for anyone and to think this happens to thousands of people daily around the world blows my mind. I have chosen my mindset of love, positivity and to focus on me and my well being. I know there will be rough times ahead and days that will force me to question all that I believe but I will stay strong and choose love and light in every situation #fuckcancer #idonotfightalone

21.01.2022 My friend shared this caption today and it was such a poignant moment for me especially today. Today I confirmed my attendance at Queensland parliament next Thursday to support the CEO of Bowel Cancer Australia and share my story and concern at the length of time it took for me to receive a routine colonoscopy which confirmed my cancer, and we now know is time we critically lost to catch this disease in its infancy. The fact I have the opportunity to be a voice and put my shitty *pun intended* experience to use and hopefully improve the diagnosis rate and time gives me hope and purpose outside of myself

17.01.2022 June is bowel cancer awareness month. Something I didn't know much about until January this year at the age of 35, mum to 3 young children and I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. In March I underwent surgery to remove 15cms of my colon and 30 lymph nodes, I then commenced adjuvant chemotherapy and have just completed my 2nd of 12 rounds. What I didn't know was colon and Bowel cancer is not a "old mans disease" and if caught early has a 98% cure rate! So I just wanted t...o give some info on what to look for and what your rights are to demand attention if you feel you are not getting the support you need. For 7 years I have been told it's just haemorrhoids and I never pushed further until it got unbearable and was placed on a wait list which took 14 months, even though my symptoms persisted.
