This 6 drawer solid teak console table has been refinished into a contemporary semi-industrial style, completed with custom 3D printed carbon fibre pipe elbows for the drawer handles with Tasmanian oak cross pieces. The frame of the table has been painted in a charcoal chalk paint and sealed in clear matt finishing wax. The table top and drawers have been sanded to bare timber and sealed in two different tones of stained matt finishing wax. Listed at $310. Measureme...nts are 135cm x 90cm x 45cm. 24.01.2022 SOLD! This beautiful solid timber 3 drawer console table has been stripped back and refinished in what I would best describe as a soft industrial chic style. The teak drawer fronts and table top have been sanded and stained whilst the rest of the table has been painted in a custom grey chalk paint. The entire piece has been sealed in clear matt finishing wax. The measurements for the table are 120cm x 80cm x 35cm.
23.01.2022 SOLD!! Since completing a couple of side projects I had committed to do, (hence the absence of posts on One20Grit) I have been so excited to finally complete this sideboard in a semi-industrial style. The timber is solid hardwood, the colours used to compliment the natural timber are a custom warm grey and graphite. The entire piece has been sealed in matte finishing wax. Custom made gate valve inspired drawer/door handles with zinc plated hardware complete this piece. The drawers are on runners for smooth sliding and the interior of the cabinet provides shelving for maximum storage. This has turned out beautifully and one of my favourite pieces to date. 23.01.2022 Hey Guys! We are moving house! Thank to everyone who has sent messages in recent weeks with enquiries on upcoming furniture pieces. To everyone else, the reason for the silence on One20Grit is we have been in the process of selling our house which has meant decluttering (not that we had a lot of clutter) and staging the property for sale for photography and opens. This has also meant temporarily moving my workbenches, furniture, paints and tools into storage. My workshop at home has been returned to the beautiful courtyard it once was. We will be moving to our new house in less than two weeks when I will be back to refinishing some amazing pieces I have been collecting. Mel x
23.01.2022 SOLD!! This 7 drawer chest of drawers is made from teak timber. It has been refinished in warm grey toned chalk paint and the alternate drawers in natural timber have been sanded smooth and sealed. It is Indonesian made with a rustic appearance. Clear matt finishing wax has been applied to the entire piece to protect the finish. Custom made black drawer handles and zinc plated hardware complete this piece. This solid timber 4 drawer chest of drawers has been refinished in a custom chalk paint colour combining sage / eucalyptus / duck egg blue with grey undertones and finally sealed in clear matt finishing wax. The top of the drawer chest and drawer fronts have been sanded smooth and finished in liming white. Black gate valve drawer hardware with colour co-ordinated back plates complete this piece. The drawers also function on runners for smooth operation. A form of reverse distressing has been applied to the top coat using white wax to highlight the detail and natural imperfections in the timber. 16.01.2022 SOLD! After having to take some time away from furniture to work on a HR project for one of my clients, I am now very glad to be back doing what I love. You may recall I posted the before shot of this piece below, back in early February. I bought it for the purpose of refinishing it for our main bedroom. I am very sad to say, we now have to sell it. Unfortunately, there is not enough turning room on our staircase to get it up to our bedroom. We made multiple attempts, d...ifferent ways, but no joy. Risking our glass balustrading was not an option either. This multi purpose piece, can be used as a clothes cupboard, storage unit or as the entertainment cabinet in the living room. It has been fully refinished, inside and out, in pure white chalk paint, light distressing along the edges and finally sealed in a matt clear finishing wax. The doors are double hinged and can be folded right back. The measurements are 153cm (height) x 99cm (width) x 63cm (depth). This is a heavy piece and will require at least two people when collecting. All questions are welcome. Mel
15.01.2022 After our huge haul last weekend to pick up some great pieces to refinish, this piece below is priority one. It is for our own main bedroom as I have totally outgrown my current chest of drawers with clothes now being piled on top of the drawer chest. To match our decor, it will be painted in pure white chalk paint. Once completed, the next challenge will be carrying it up two flights of stairs with my husband.
13.01.2022 Hey Everyone! Here is where my family have been over the Summer break, up at Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Since returning back home and getting ready for the 2020 school year to begin, I am also in the process of sourcing some great pieces to refinish. 10.01.2022 SOLD! There is such a demand for refinished console / hall tables, so when I found this one I had to have it. This is a beautiful old silky oak console table. My favourite detail of this piece is the drawer fronts. I absolutely love the grain of the drawers, particularly as the drawer fronts were cut from the same piece of timber where the grain is continuous across the three drawers. I have sanded back the top and drawers to bare timber and then sealed the timber in clear finishing wax. The rest of the table has been painted in pure white chalk paint, also sealed in clear finishing wax. Listing this afternoon for $299.

09.01.2022 Do you have some ginger jars in your home, possibly sitting in the back of your pantry? Perhaps you don’t know what to do with them, because the colour or pattern is not........... well.......... current and you just haven’t got around to listing them on Facebook Marketplace? Here is a large ginger jar I bought off FM very cheaply (it was very retro) and I refinished it using white and navy chalk paint. I also applied a dry brushing technique to add texture to the finish, sanded with 400 grit and finally sealed in clear matt wax. A great weekend project which I would recommend to everyone to have a go. Mel
09.01.2022 SOLD! This solid timber 8 drawer dresser / chest of drawers / sideboard has been refinished in white chalk paint before being aged along the edging and panels with mild distressing. The top of the unit and two-piece handles have been sanded smooth and lightly lime washed in Feast & Watson Liming White. The inside of the drawers have all been painted in a coastal blue. All painted surfaces have been sealed in clear finishing wax. The bottom of the drawers and cavity drawer ...tracks have all been waxed to ensure smooth operation.
