24.01.2022 'What a precious privilege it is to be alive. To breathe, to think, to enjoy and to love.' - Marcus Aurelius Those who regularly practice gratitude by taking the time to notice and reflect upon the things they are grateful for, (even for the smallest things) experience an army of positive emotions. They are:... ~ Happier & more content ~ Feel more alive ~ Sleep better ~ Express more kindness & compassion Establishing and maintaining a regular gratitude practice can literally change the way your brain functions and the strength of your immune system. Start by writing down three things you are grateful for each morning. They can be as little or as big as you like. Look for something positive in each day. Even if some days you have to look a little harder. Namaste. See more

14.01.2022 Surrender. There is so much beauty and many lessons to learn in the spaces we are trying to avoid. Surrender into yourself. ... Breathe into the discomfort. Confront the pain that has found a home in your body. Visualise all that no longer serves you. All of the emotional baggage, the stress and the discomfort. All of it. Ask it gently to leave. Let it go. Exhale all that is weighing you down: physically, emotionally and mentally. Allow yourself to crumble. To come undone so that you can start again. Really be there for yourself and spend some time to experience your truth. Allow yourself to start over, as many times as you need too. Hold space and be kind to yourself, so that you can do the same for others. Namaste. See more

13.01.2022 Living in alignment. When you're living in alignment with your soul purpose you will begin to feel a sense of effortless ease. Everything you want and wish for will begin to flow to you. In much the same way, when we are out of alignment, every day can feel difficult. As though we are pushing against a current that is constantly pulling us in another direction.... This current is a call to move into alignment. If you don’t answer the call, the universe will eventually find a way to steer you into it because it’s your life’s path. Sometimes when you are called to do something, it might feel like it came out of nowhere. Although if you look back at your life, you’ll most likely notice signs and patterns that were there all along. You’ll start to understand why things happened the way they did. You’ll understand and accept your past and have a clear vision of your future. When we begin to tap into the undercurrent of our life through tools such as meditation and yoga, we have a quiet confidence that our life is being divinely guided. What signs have you noticed coming up for you lately? See more

12.01.2022 Go Deeper with Yin Yoga. ~ Have you tried Yin Yoga before? There is so much beauty in the practice of Yin Yoga and where is takes your body and mind. ~ In Yin, we hold poses for up to 5 minutes, which allows time for you to really feel into your body, connect with your breath and surrender.... ~ Unprocessed stress, emotions and trauma become trapped in the tissues of the body, causing pain, discomfort and a feeling of disconnection to our own being. ~ Yin allows us too slowly and gently peel back these layers in order to process and release. Because of this, it's not uncommon to feel like you want to cry, scream or laugh during a pose. This is your safe space to release and let go. See you on the mat. See more

07.01.2022 Why we practice Asana (Yoga Pose). ~ Yoga is far more than just a physical exercise, but rather a tool we use to establish a new perception of our inner and outer worlds. ~ During our practice, we begin to make the connection between the Asana, and the way in which they are used to direct energy in a specific way, in order to move through any mental or emotional blockages.... ~ I invite you to consider how your practice is making you feel? If it's not making you feel calm, grounded and content, then it may be time to reframe your perception of each Asana. ~ The next time you are called to an Asana, think of it as a journey, or avenue that is gently guiding you back home to yourself and watch the shift that begins to take place. See you on the mat. See more

06.01.2022 'Healing isn't a linear process. It blooms and wilts as our seasons of life change. There will be moments when the only option is to start from scratch. Begin again, as many times as you need to.' - Alex Elle At One Big Heart, we have created a safe and supportive space to allow you to grow, heal and start again, as often as you need to. Our doors are always open and we are ready to meet you on the mat, at whatever point you are at in your journey.... Namaste. See more
