03.01.2022 Everyone has been waiting months for the return of gym exercise. Some even opted to make their own gyms from home! It is so exciting to see that gyms are open, and the first inclination most will have will be ‘I want to get back and smash my fitness goals.’ Whilst enthusiasm is great, the last thing everyone wants is to get back just to hurt themselves. ... Instead, remember all the other awesome benefits of working out a gym: -Socialising and building comradery with others -Being inspired by others exercising around you -Appreciating the moment that you’re being active and looking after your body -Eliminating stress and anxieties. An example of a good mindset of someone enjoying exercise in moderation would be: ‘It’s so good just to be able to lift weights again with friends. I know I have got a long way to go but I will get there.’ If you are concerned about your body or a certain area when returning to gym exercise, contact Symmetry Physiotherapy, where our physiotherapists are highly active themselves and who have experience in gym and exercise related injuries.

03.01.2022 You don't need to have a gym membership to keep your muscles strong! There are many ways to bring exercise into your day. Make the most of some downtime to fit in exercise, such as 10 quick squats or 10 heel raises while waiting for the kettle to boil. Struggling for ideas, chat with your physio at your next appointment.
