23.01.2022 Barry Mitchell Feel the Magic Charity Ride You may have seen Barry Mitchell riding in the Power Cycle studio over the last few months, preparing for his Feel the Magic Charity ride, an organisation supporting grieving children. Barry completed a 4 day ride of 455km in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, including day 2 with a 160km+ day in the saddle tackling the infamous Col d'Beloka after approximately 140km in the legs.... Day 3 included a 23km climb on the stage from Jindabyne to Perisher and on to Charlottes Pass, then swapping bikes to ride a Mountain Bike on the trails and climbing the 8km to the Mt Kosciuszko summit before the return ride to Jindabyne. The 4 day ride battled extreme conditions with the heat, 55km cross and headwinds and a 0 degree morning and wind on the final day riding into Cooma. Congratulations on a great achievement and supporting a great cause. Barry prepared exceptionally well through developing a training program and approach for the event with Jono, with Ed building and servicing Barry's new bike for the 4 day event. Congratulations Barry!

22.01.2022 Nepean Triathlon A wet morning greeted everyone making the trek to the foot of the mountains for the annual Nepean Triathlon, Australia’s oldest Triathlon. Congratulations to the organising committee for adapting and enabling the race to go ahead, your efforts were much appreciated by all the athletes, and thank you to all the volunteers.... Congratulations to Diana Cubillos competing her 1st triathlon yesterday, a very tough introduction to racing with the conditions and the atmosphere. Diana mentioned she was hurting but enjoying it on the run leg, looked like it was more fun than hurting in the photo ! Dave McEwan & Helen McArthur winning their respective age groups and John Murtagh, Mark Nethery and Jono Rainey also competing. Great to see Greg Baxter and Sue Horsburgh out there as well in TA roles. #nepeantriathlon

19.01.2022 Its time for us to start opening back up! Our first priority is to start bring everyone back together safely and within the guidelines. Starting next Monday, we will be organising group runs starting from the training centre at 630pm each evening Monday - Thursday. There will be a mixture of run options from easy aerobic runs to structured intervals. We will form small groups and head out for the runs while staying an appropriate distance apart. ... Our Zoom sessions and Zwift sessions will remain running for those that are still training at home. Our online training plans that everyone is following will also continue. If you plan on joining us, please post below so we can start planning the return to normal training. Its going to be great to start seeing everyone again in person and starting to jump back into training.

16.01.2022 We are super excited to announce that Isabella Khoudair will be joining our team every Tuesday night to run our mobility & functional strength sessions. Bella is a former ITU junior elite triathlete and is now a qualified physiotherapist. She will be running two sessions on Tuesday nights at 630pm and 730pm. Sessions are restricted to 5 people so ensure you book early on the app.

15.01.2022 WHATS HAPPENING! TRACK IS BACK! Starting this Tuesday March 23rd at 7pm our run technique and track sessions are back at Castlewood Reserve, Castle Hill (provided the rain goes away?!) Track will run for the next 11 weeks leading into winter.... All abilities welcome and sessions will be programmed for everyone. Book via the Onebody app STRENGTH & MOBILITY SESSIONS Due to declining numbers we have removed the Thursday 6am & 4.30pm strength sessions. But you still have 10+ sessions per week to choose from. Heidi runs an amazing strength session designed to make you stronger & more powerful... Elite athletes in the making! 14.01.2022 The storms overnight have not been very helpful. Unfortunately a large part of our roof both inside and outside the centre collapsed inwards and flooded the centre. At this stage, our strength room for running virtual classes cannot be used. There will likely be postponement of virtual classes next week until the room is repaired and safe for use. Bike servicing is still running as usual and so are bike fits. We will probably be slow to respond to emails and phone calls while we clean up all the damage.

12.01.2022 The racing and events continue. Shoalhaven Summit Trail Run A very hot day running through the bushfire affected area of the Southern Highlands from Kangaroo Valley.... 23km event... Jodie Hill - 23km longest ever run ! 3hr55min. Jodie set herself the goal of competing in a longer trail run and completed the event exceptionally well. Jodie trained smart and focused on running where the terrain enabled it, and also working on her nutrition and focusing on this for race day. Congratulations ! 10.01.2022 Back to swim squads this coming Monday & Wednesday 7:30pm. BUT with Covid-19 lane spaces are strictly limited. If you dont book a slot via the app, you wont be able to swim. This includes all our regulars who were swimming with us before CV-19... Currently over half the slots have been taken. Book early or miss out! ... Book via the Onebody app > Triathlon Squad > swim squads. Sessions will be well structured, however of course pretty chill as we get back decent swim fitness. Expect to be about 20-30 seconds slower / 100m for the first few weeks!

Additionally some running events are back including the Bare Creek Trail over last weekend, and of course the NSW Club Championships Triathlon at Forster on this weekend.... Terrible conditions at Husky with rain, plenty of water on course over the road for the bike and run legs and strong wind making it challenging conditions to return to racing. 04.01.2022 Squads are back!!! (Well, almost...) Pencil in July 20th as our return to the pool ... We will be running squads back at the Aquatic Safety Training Academy. Seven Hills pool on Monday and Wednesday nights again. (No weekend squads just yet though) After a decent break, expect to struggle the first few weeks back (well everyone except Greg Baxter who always manages to hold a decent pace regardless of training / effort #JealousMuch?) Plan to come back in the first week, and youll have a solid 10 weeks to build up your swim fitness again before club champs - its coming on quick! Due to COVIC-19 restrictions, youll need to book your slot in the lane (more details will be announced soon)

02.01.2022 race league begins Starting Tuesdays, for the month of September we are running Tuesday night brick racing!! **first 2 weeks free**... The bike will be a 20k replica of the Triathlon NSW Kurnell bike course. Bring your own bike, and our turbo trainers will set the resistance for you based on the course profile, then track your speed relative everyone else based on your weight & watts (similar to Zwift, but south your own personal avatar). This course profile was chosen specifically to get people ready for Kurnell racing come Jan. its a good mix of flat and a small sharp climb. Hopefully lots of people will jump in and do that event to help support Elite Energy Events! As you ride, youll be able to see in real time your position relative to the other racers. Then, its off the bike for a 3.5k run. 3 loops around the block here at castle hill. No roads to cross but theres a decent hill! We will then tally results based on time splits from Strava for both the bike and run. (Youll need to join the onebody group). The power cycle session will automatically push your activity to strava, so youll just need a GPS watch for the run. You can take a few minutes in transition, as we dont want anyone running though the car park to the road to start the run laps. Now for the juicy part: come end of the month, there will be prizes for fastest Male & Female times. Wed love as many people to do this as possible, as next month we will be running round 2 as a handicap system based of your September time. First two weeks free. Tuesday 4:30/5:45/7pm.
