23.01.2022 Share your Best Success Tip! Life is better when it is shared with others And sometimes, we all can use a little dose of inspiration to get or keep us going! Thats why this week your challenge is to share ONE success tip that has helped YOU on your journey to better health and fitness, or in any other area of life! ... We have some incredible people in our group and its a gift when you can open up, learn, and share with the people around us. Your tip can be anything from something that makes you feel empowered to an actual strategy or tip that youve used to overcome something! Ill start with a few to get the ball rolling: 1. ALWAYS believe in yourself. You are capable of far more than you know. I love Thomas Edisons quote: If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves. 2. Live life with gratitude. There is always something to be grateful for, no matter what the situation. Be happy with what you have while working for what you want. as Hellen Keller put it. 3. Surround yourself with good people. Find people that motivate you and push you to be a better person than you were yesterday. Find positive, sharing people who will help you shine. Find honest people who will tell you where you went wrong without judging or condemning and support you no matter what. 4. Respect yourself and value your time. Jim Rohn says it best: Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time 5. Know the difference between what you want NOW and what you want MOST. Now its your turn. Share one of your best tips that has helped you to become successful in the comments below!

21.01.2022 It's so easy to get caught up in the moment. I know as soon as I face a challenge or I am stressed I easily become worked up and this does not help anyone. I have to remind myself to stop in that moment and turn it around. I say to myself there is a reason I am facing this, I am being taught a lesson, its character building I take each stress and I use it to see what I can make of the situation.... #persistencepaysoff #discipline #coachonline #onlinecoachingfitnessplan #goldcoastliving

21.01.2022 Drop the Negative Self-Talk: Constructive self-evaluation is important because we get to reflect on things that have happened. It also gives us insight into how we can grow and do things differently in the future. Self-reflection is considerate and respectful inner dialogue.... Negative self-talk, on the other hand, drains our energy and confidence; triggers feelings of shame, sadness, frustration, embarrassment and hopelessness. Many studies show that harsh self-criticism causes higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression. Pay VERY close attention to your inner self-talk and the conversations in your head. Here are a few exercises to consider when training your mind to think differently: 1. What would you say to a friend who is in the same situation? How would you talk to them? What advice would you give? Or what would your best and dearest friends say to you in those moments? 2. Be mindful of your thoughts and instead of telling yourself: Im so disorganised! train yourself for success, "Im not as organised as Id like to be so Im going to commit to cleaning one area of my home each week until I feel more organised." 3. Give your inner critic a name it will be hard for you to take those inner remarks seriously if you say: Oh, heres that old Nag again! 4. Shame breathes 3 things: fear, blame and disconnection. If you have any of these emotions running around inside your head, find the courage to call someone and talk about it! 5. Embrace imperfection! Realise deeply that theres nothing interesting about being perfect. You know what else? No one ever inspires others by being bulletproof, but their willingness to mess up and try again! Your task this week is to change your inner-self talk to something empowering and positive. Are you in!? Lets all support each other because weve all got our own stuff to work on!

20.01.2022 The FIVE Ingredient Challenge This week’s challenge is all about how less is more! Your task this week is to only buy and consume foods that have 5 ingredients or less! In his book, Food Rules, Michael Pollan says: ... Avoid food products that contain more than five ingredients. The specific number you adopt is arbitrary, but the more ingredients in a packaged food, the more highly processed it probably is. It’s important for you to keep this concept in mind when you’re shopping. Also, note that more than five ingredients in your own recipe is not the same thing It’s perfectly fine for you to use more than five ingredients if you’re cooking at home! And NO, the Häagen-Dazs 5 ingredient ice cream is still not on the list As Michael Pollan put it, the number 5 could be imaginary; someone’s random choice or personal whim, but you need to draw the line somewhere. You can easily adjust the number later, but for now it’s important to learn how to examine and inspect closely what you put in your body. Read your labels and check each ingredient. Never buy anything that has an ingredient that you can’t pronounce. Do you accept this week’s FIVE Ingredient challenge? If so, commit in a comment below! See more

19.01.2022 TIPS FOR MAKING A FRITTATA Use an oven safe skillet for this recipe. The frittata is cooked on the stovetop and in the oven, so don’t use anything with plastic handles that can melt.... Cook the vegetables well before adding the egg mixture. This helps to get rid of any excess liquid that can otherwise make your frittata soggy. Let the frittata stand for 5 minutes before slicing it so that it firms up. Don’t skip the Greek yogurt. It creates a fluffy and creamy texture. You can also use whole milk, cream or sour cream. Curious about the recipe? Ask us!! #keytosuccess #breakthestigma #healthylifestyle #nutritioniskey

19.01.2022 Pumpkin Spice Custard with Marrow Infusion INGREDIENTS: - 1 small pie pumpkin - 6 eggs, preferably pastured... - 1/2 cup grass-fed beef bone marrow - 3/4 cups coconut milk, raw milk, or cream - 2 tsp ground cinnamon - 1 tsp ground ginger - tsp ground cloves - 1/2 tsp unrefined sea salt - 1/2 3/4 cup maple syrup or raw honey INSTRUCTIONS: - Preheat oven 176 degrees celsius - Cut pumpkin in half and scoop out seeds. - Place pumpkin halves cut side down in a baking dish and add 1/4 inch water. Remove from the oven when you can easily pierce the shell with a fork (about 45 minutes 1 hour). - While the pumpkin is baking, bring marrow bones to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes. When the marrow is ready, scoop the bones out with a slotted spoon and place in a bowl to drain. After theyve cooled a bit use a butter knife to extract the marrow. Place it in a small bowl. - Spoon marrow but not the oil that has collected at the bottom of the bowl in with the eggs, milk/coconut milk, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt and honey. Puree until smooth. - When the pumpkin is cooked through, scoop out the flesh and add it to the egg mixture. Blend until smooth. - Place mixture in ramekins or a large oven-safe dish and bake at 176 celsius. Custard placed in small ramekins should be ready in about 35-45 minutes. Large casserole dishes take about 45-minutes to an hour. Watch carefully and remove when it is set in the centre. - Serve with whipped cream if desired. [Credit: MommyPotamus.com]

18.01.2022 I would buy an Island... What would you do? Comment below...

18.01.2022 INGREDIENTS: - kilo pork (ground chicken or turkey would work too) - 1 apple, cored peeled and shredded (or pear) - 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme - 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard... - 1/4 teaspoon sea salt - 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (or fresh ground black pepper I was out) - 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, but brings out the apple) - 1 1/2 tablespoons gluten-free Dijon Mustard - 2 green onions, diced - 1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder) INSTRUCTIONS: - In a large bowl, mix all of the above ingredients together making sure to fully combine. Use your hands- it works great and is better for the meat. Let everything sit together for at least 30 minutes. If you can swing it, letting them sit overnight will make them mighty tasty too. - Then form into 6 equal portioned burger patties. - Heat a pan over medium-high heat. - Once hot, place burgers on the pan and allow them to cook on one side for about 3-4 minutes. Be careful here because if you flip them too soon there is a chance they will fall apart. - Once cooked on one side flip then cook on the other side until completely cooked and no longer pink in the middle. - Serve immediately. If you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator and reheat in a pan on both sides for a few minutes just to heat. [Credit: MultiplyDelicious.com]

17.01.2022 DIY Warming Rub For Sore Muscles INGREDIENTS: - 1/2 cup coconut oil - 1 1/4 cups finely grated, packed cocoa butter (about 55 grams.) (can use cheese grater)... - 2 tablespoons cayenne powder - 2 teaspoons ginger powder - 15 drops peppermint oil** (omit for children under 5) - 15 drops eucalyptus oil*** (half this for children) - 8 drops clove oil*** (half this for children) - 1 teaspoon arrowroot powder or non-GMO cornstarch (optional reduces oily finish) EQUIPMENT: double boiler (or a pot that fits inside another pot) cheesecloth or old t-shirt chilled bowl mixer INSTRUCTIONS: - Place coconut oil, cayenne and ginger powder in a double boiler and gently warm the oil. Be careful not to let it get hot. - Once the oil is slightly warm give it a stir and then turn off the burner. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes and then repeat the process. Do this a couple of more times (2 hours total) and then remove from heat completely. Set aside the oil to infuse for longer (I prefer overnight) or move on to step three it’s up to you! - Place the bowl in the freezer so it will be nice and cold when needed. - Using a cheesecloth or old t-shirt, strain the mixture over a measuring cup. After straining out the spices, add enough coconut oil so that the final amount is 1/2 cup. - Add the arrowroot powder and mix thoroughly. - Place the infused coconut oil in the fridge/freezer until it is cool/semi-solid on top. - Don’t let it harden all the way through or it will be very difficult to whip! - Place the infused coconut oil and cocoa butter in a chilled bowl and add your essential oils. Mix on the highest setting until peaks form (a stand mixer or old-fashioned hand mixer will both do the trick). - Store in an airtight jar keep out of direct sunlight. [Credit: MommyPotamus.com]

13.01.2022 The benefits of strength training for women. Hi, I'm Chad from onebodywellness.com.au and creator of the OneBody Method and a lot of women think that they don't need to strength training because they're just gonna bulk up and that could not be further from the truth. One of the benefits of strength training for women is that it encourages your body to build a little bit of muscle while keeping that nice feminine figure. At least that's what our program does. You know a ...lot of them will just bulk you up if not done correctly but when your body has more muscle - your metabolism is elevated and when you elevate those feel-good hormones that’ll help burn body fat and allow you deal with stress better. Building muscle helps you focus and helps you look younger and feel younger. When we do just a lot of long boring cardio it actually REDUCES those feel-good hormones, but RAISES YOUR STRESS hormones because we're not designed for that type of exercise. I'm not saying that you need to stop that exercise. If you enjoy doing - do more of the things that you enjoy. As long as you're getting the benefit and nobody else is getting hurt. At least, that's what I tell my daughter. I digress But if we can use the cardio to its advantage by adding in that strength training, it's a double whammy. We teach you how to build muscle while keeping your metabolism high, but then get your body into a fat burning state so that when you do your cardio, your body' s already burning body fat instead of just calories. I will leave that one burning calories versus burning fat for another video, but you get the gist of it: train smarter, you don't have to train harder and that's what we help our clients do. If you're interested, we're offering free online personal training sessions. Just simply click the link in the post and book a time that suits and we'll show you how we do it. https://bit.ly/ObwSuccess

12.01.2022 Monday Challenge Go Microwave-Free for a week! Microwaves are in nearly ever home. In todays world, we all want things fast. I get it! Heating a meal in in 5 minutes or less is pretty enticing- however are they completely safe for you and your family? ... Theres a lot of controversy over this issue- so let me give you a little perspective - We know that microwaves release radiation into food, because thats how they work. But its still not 100% clear whether or not microwaves release radiation into the environment. There are articles that suggest they do in fact emit radiation, although the FDA has established that those are safe levels of radiation for a microwave. - We do know that heating certain materials, like plastics in the microwave can be harmful to our bodies by causing the BPAs from the plastic to leach into our food Even when plastics labeled Microwave Safe and advertised for children were tested, they found it released toxic doses of BPA when heated in a microwave. - Although any type of cooking alters the nutrient value in food in some way or another, low and slow cooking seems to preserve most nutrients while faster methods of cooking such as microwave cooking, destroys more nutrients. - Also, the taste you get when you prepare food in a microwave cannot compare to when you use traditional appliances like an old-fashioned stove! So- even though the research jury is still out about microwave safety, your challenge this week is NOT to use it at all! Use good ole fashioned pots and pans or a crockpot to prepare your meals. Traditional methods may take a bit more time, but it helps prepare healthier, safer, more tasteful food, and is totally worth it. Let me know in a comment below if you accept this challenge! 09.01.2022 Break Up with Your Cell Phone Challenge Do you check your phone first thing in the morning? Are you checking it while youre driving or out to dinner with your friends or family? Do you check your phone instead of working on an important assignment? If you answered yes to two or more of those questions, theres a chance you may be addicted to your cell phone! But hey This is the 21st century, so who isnt?... We depend on our phones a lot. They keep us informed, entertained, give us directions, and keep us connected with our friends and family. Its important to remember that even though phones are great, they shouldnt take over our lives. Studies show that youll be happier (and less stressed!) if you check your phone less! But thats not very easy to do, isnt it? Phone checking became a part of our daily routine. In fact, the average person checks their phone about 150 times a day! Here are a few easy steps to get you started with breaking your cell-phone addiction: - Do NOT allow yourself to check your phone for at least the first 30 min of your day. - Set designated times during the day to check your phone. - Turn off your ringer! You can actually set your phone to ring only when certain people call you- that way you dont miss calls that you may need to take. - Make a commitment to yourself not to text and drive. Your life and other peoples lives can be at stake- no matter how great of a driver you may be. This week, your challenge is to try implementing 2 or more strategies above to help free yourself from your cell phone! Are you IN?! Let me know below!

08.01.2022 Ever feel claustrophobic? Weirdly enough, the smell of green apples has been proven to help. It has also been shown to reduce migraine and headaches. So if youre travelling on a plane or are headed for tight spaces, make sure to bring your green apple along!

08.01.2022 Benefits of Essential Oils - give it a try! Essential oils are highly concentrated and are extracted right from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed, or root of a plant or tree. Just a single drop can have incredible benefits. Before the use of modern medicine, oils were often used to treat and prevent many illnesses. In fact, in King Tut’s tomb, they found 350 liters of essential oils in alabaster jars.... They have a wide range of positive physical and emotional effects on the body, and can be used (depending on the oil) 4 ways: topically, inhaled through a diffuser, internally, or added to soaps, lotions, and hair products. It’s not surprising that some oils can help you relax and sleep better but can they really improve your health? Absolutely! Some oils help reduce fear and anxiety, while others aid digestion and boost immunity. Some can heal the skin and treat skin conditions, while others can help fight cancers and shrink brain tumors. Your task this week is to try any essential oil of your choice!! Although most come with guidelines, certain oils can only be used in certain ways, so make sure you have the proper instructions. Make sure to get certified, therapeutic grade oils- they have the greatest healing properties. If you don’t know where to start, here are a few essential oils great for beginners: Lavender: helps with relaxation, improves mood and heals skin irritations Peppermint: supports digestion, improves focus, boosts energy, and reduces fever, headache and muscle pain. Tea Tree: anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, reduces bad odors and helps stimulate the immune system. Rosemary: can naturally thicken hair so it is great to add rosemary to homemade shampoos! Also, it improves brain function and memory so it’s great to use when working, reading or studying. Are you in for our Essential Oil Challenge!? Great! Let us know below and which one you will be trying this week.... #onebodywellness #chadsorsdahl #wellness

08.01.2022 Another Friday Flex to Kick off your weekend!

07.01.2022 What happens to our bodies when we sleep is nothing short of a miracle. Our bodies are busy restoring, detoxing, and regenerating without us even being consciously aware of it. We all know how important sleep is, but unfortunately, so many of us struggle with getting the solid 6-8 hours we need every night. ... Not only that- but the QUALITY of sleep seems to be on the decline as well. This week, your challenge is to aim for 6-8 hours of quality, deep sleep each night. Here are a few ways to improve the quality of your sleep: 1. Sleeping in complete darkness. Its important for regulating the circadian rhythm- and even small amounts of light can reduce melatonin levels and disrupt sleep. Tip: Cover all light sources, remove any unnecessary electronics, and try blackout curtains if you have windows. 2. Avoid technology for at least 90 minutes before bed! This includes the computer, TV and even using your cell phone. 3. Adjust your thermostat to around 65 degrees- that temperature has been shown to promote the highest quality of sleep in most people. 4. Reduce the noise nearby if possible. Or- if you need some background, calming noise, try a free app called Noisli. 5. Choose the right mattress! Make sure youre getting enough support. 6. Keep air inside your home clean and fresh. Studies have directly linked indoor air pollution with some of the sleeping disorders. Tip: Keep plants inside your home or try an inexpensive air filter or purifier. Your challenge is to implement 1 or more strategies and aim for 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Do you accept!? Let me know in a comment below!

07.01.2022 Thursday's Tip Did you know that one 600mL (20-oz) coke has more sugar in it than a large Cinnabon? 65 grams of sugar is packed into one plastic bottle. Diet soft drink isn’t a better alternative because it will mess with your brain AND has been proven not to be great for your waistline even though it contains no calories. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Go for a nice cold glass of water and flavour it with some fresh lemon, lime, or strawberry. Search the web for Infuser Water Bottle for a fun way to flavour your water.

Do this on Facebook or do it in person- either way, find a way to let them know. Who has been a shining example of heart, perseverance, or hard work? Who has made a difference in your life but probably has no idea that they have helped you!? Your challenge this week is to let them know! Instead of saying I’m in for this challenge, tag someone below who inspires you and let them know why!

04.01.2022 Baked Almond Chicken Strips (serving 4-8) INGREDIENTS: - 3 very large chicken breasts, boneless & skinless - 1 1/4 cup almonds, ground (almond meal works too)... - 1 tablespoon of garlic or onion powder - 1 teaspoon oregano or basil, dried - 3/4 teaspoon salt - 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper - 2 eggs, large - cooking spray - organic ketchup or honey mustard for dipping INSTRUCTIONS: - Preheat the oven to 230 C degrees. Line a large baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper, spray well with cooking spray and set aside. - In one small bowl, mix ground almonds (almond meal), garlic (onion) powder, oregano (basil), salt and pepper. In another small bowl, whisk the eggs. - Wash chicken breasts and pat dry with a piece of paper towel. Cut into 1/2 inch thick strips lengthwise. Place a few on a cutting board, cover with a piece of plastic wrap and pound with a meat tenderizer a few times. Repeat with remaining pieces. - Dip each strip into an egg mixture, coat completely in almond mixture and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes on one side, flip and bake for another 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Please note, when flipping the bottom might look under baked and soggy but it will get browned and crispy, trust me. Serve hot with organic ketchup or Honey Mustard Sauce, or Cauliflower "Mashed Potatoes" for a complete meal. [Credit: iFOODreel.com]
