25.01.2022 Happy first birthday to my little helper. Safety first
24.01.2022 I have a Stratco Ambient blind, Regent series with head box, 4380 wide, 2400 drop, black frame, with 1% openness fabric in cinder colour going cheap.. These retail around $2800, plus GST, plus installation, so upwards of $3.2K. They are custom made in Adelaide and this one was ordered incorrectly, so is brand new in its box. If you have a space that is 4380 or just a bit wider and want a premium product at a Bunno's price, I would love to hear from you.... We can build out areas to attach the side guides if need be. I will do a good deal on fitment so you get the full factory warranty. Name your price. It is very similar in appearance to this one I fitted recently, just a bit darker. The picture below is a 5100 wide blind with 1500 drop for reference. Thanks, Kris, 0473 203 122 It is possible that this blind could be shortened, but this will result in seam in the middle of the blind. No issue with performance or operation, just not the aesthetically pleasing product that is custom made.
22.01.2022 It's taken on Tracey and won. It's taken on all the others since, but this solid chunk of steel that has faithfully held this house up for 40 plus years couldn't handle the salt water from the pool filter. Its mate that has been supporting the stair case went out in sympathy too.. Lots of digging, lots of grinding, a bit of concrete and a side of paving has given this area a new lease, whilst at the same time removed multiple level changes and other obstacles for the family t...hat have lived in this place from day one! The steel was harder to find than a winning lotto ticket, but that's all part of the challenge that this job presented. Add a lick of fresh paint (by the owner), engineering assessment and building approval and I reckon this job has come up great. Job's Done!
21.01.2022 How good is it to be back in the dry? Back to watering the garden... If you are having trouble getting irrigation supplies or only just realising this now you to turn our sprinklers back on, read on. With the whirlwind that 2020 has thrown at us, another item as precious as loo paper is 19mm irrigation components. A big part of this is due to the devastation that occured to our southern neighbours over Christmas and into the new year and much of Australian stocks have been co...nsumed already. I have a large supply of 13mm, 19mm and 25mm fittings ready to repair your system, and can get your system back up to speed no matter the condition. I don't want to stop anyone from the pleasantries of enjoying the after work bevvie whilst splashing some water about the garden... but if you haven't got time, or the garden is calling for more, let me know. One call... Job's Done!
20.01.2022 Rather spend your weekends here? Time poor? Give me a call and we can change that.... One call.. Job's Done!
19.01.2022 Got the finishing touches done on this transformation from a verandah that was too hot to sit under, to a new modern cool space to relax. No thermometers required to tell the difference in temperature before and after. The difference is significant!, and the whole house is now cooler. The colorbond in surf mist looks sharp too.... Job's Done!
19.01.2022 Wall to wall storage and hanging, massive mirrors, heaps of light and the feeling of space. What used to consume all cupboards in all bedrooms has nearly been consolidated in one, such is the efficiency of modern cabinetry. I have no description for the former, but appreciate that is how it was when the home was built, and kudos for it lasting this long, albeit with a few minor leg-ups over the years.... Another great project with thanks to Dion at Darwin Kitchens who turned my design into cabinets, and Scott and Sarah for the opportunity. Job's Done!
18.01.2022 So I dropped our girls off to day care, and the usual commentary ensued. "What are you doing for dollar bucks today Dad?" (Thanks Bluey) I said jokingly, "putting a jigsaw puzzle back together". She smiled. I did too, only after two days and only after finally locating all the pieces....... This paving job sunk under the weight of a post hole machine which was used to bolster the tired verandah. The reason being, that it had nothing solid supporting them. If you are paving, I don't recommend taking a short cut and just using sand as the base. Paving needs a solid base like cracker dust or road base with no more than 50mm of sand for screeding. Any more, and you are prone to sagging, collapsing, water erosion, everything that a wet season has to offer! One call from Brendan at BTC constructions. Job's Done!
17.01.2022 Great to work with Michael Keith from O'Donoghues First National Real Estate and Penny from Metamorphic to turn this apartment from a tired looking abode(comple...te with significant water damage and other wear and tear) into a sharp unit representative of its location at the waterfront ready to move in and live. https://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-nt-darwin+ In the current market, it is well worth considering what can be done to get buyers through YOUR door rather than someone else's. Maybe a shiny painted main entrance door as the first impression.. or removal of that gorgeous feature wall... It may be a worthwhile investment that could result in a faster sale or better price. Water damage? Job's Done!
17.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who made contact with me in regards to the home improvement scheme (that was generously tripled from its initial offering) and drove my phone flat twice on Friday.... This means there is a lot of work inbound for a lot of people and that is a great thing. I look forward to working with you between now and when the approvals come through to make sure we are locked and loaded to get your jobs done. It is now up to all of us - both business and consumer ali...ke - to make sure we act ethically to ensure we all benefit from the scheme. I, for sure, will be doing exactly that. Nothing changes... 15.01.2022 Nothing better than the look of a 70's brown tiled spa bath..... when it has been re-tiled to bring it into the 21st century. What started as a quick repair job of replacing a few tiles, digging out a clumping palm that was dropping all matter of organics into the spa and rubbing a bit of grout back in the gaps, ended up being a full on renovation and a proper challenge in the heat of the build up. During the troubleshooting phase of trying to work out where a leak was coming... from, I spotted some rusty coloured grout.... A day or so later we got the corroded reo isolated and treated after some careful digging. Once the steel was treated, a special mix of repair mortar was used to build the concrete back up and some new tiles has bought the spa back to life. If you see rust appearing between your tiles, give me a holler. I have had a fair bit of practise in my own pool, so I can confidently deal with yours! Job's Done...
12.01.2022 From porous bricks with big grout joints that absorb everything the kitchen can throw at it (literally!, the grease and oil was stuck like glue) to new tiles that will keep the place both aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly, hygenic. Fiddly, but not a problem if you have the tools. Job's Done!
10.01.2022 What started as just a few tiles coming off the wall, then the surrounding tiles coming off in sheets and initially not worrying about replacing the flooring, this little project has turned into a overhaul of fun, and learning of new products on the market. The hybrid laminate flooring has gone down straight over the existing tiles - with a bit of preparation to remove any high spots - and is excellent to work with and looks sharp. Hopefully we can finalise it in the coming d...ays to allow the owners to enjoy their new space. A new vanity and kitchenette, a cabinet for the washing machine and a breakfast bar will modernise the unit and make it a clean easy-to-maintain space. Watch this space... I'll let you know when the job's done.
10.01.2022 Another fun and testing challenge to incorporate this metal work detail into the customers door. I cut the inserts out of a new solid core door, painted all surfaces to give it the best weather protection this design could afford, then followed up with a final lick of paint just to be sure..... A great outcome that looks great and provides better security protection. Job's Done!
09.01.2022 Heading away for a short while? The chief green keeper in this house has been away with work, leaving Mum tied up with Bubs. Lawns and gardens, appropriately, drop waaaayyyyy down the priority list! This week's rain made sure they were well over due for a cut.... I will come and do a one-off trim. Not only does it help to keep up appearances of the home being occupied, I know I'd love to come home to fresh cut grass, especially when I have been away from my family for an amount of time. Likeiwse, if you would like to spoil your green keeper on any day, let me know and we will give them some weekend back. Job's Done.
08.01.2022 Job's Done NT is now the sole installer for the @stratco range of outdoor Ambient Blinds. Turn your outdoor space into something special. In this example, the authorities would not allow a solid wall to be built in this area due to a drain. An ambient blind was the perfect solution. It fits perfectly, colour and all, and now gives the resident the option for up, down or anywhere in between versatility.... Been thinking about ways to turn your outdoor space into a useful area with excellent insect protection? Check out the Regent series from Stratco's Ambient external blind range. Job's Done.
07.01.2022 A new Nanna flat for Granny, or a Granny flat for Nanna?? Either way, this Nanna now has a space that has come up a treat with a simple kitchennete and built in wardrobe/cupboard. We even went the distance to find tiles that matched from 10 years ago... and I loved the challenge! Friday night footy and a cuppa, or a cheeky vodka... This Nanna is sorted! Couch to kitchen sink to bed... 10 steps...... Job's Done!
06.01.2022 It was an absolute pleasure to hang these stunning pieces of art by local artist Edward (Eddie) Blitner in a home for a customer today. The finesse and detail of each individually painted line on every piece is incredible, and amazing to learn (in meeting the man) that this has taken him 50 plus years to perfect. Sadly this image does not illustrate the fine detail.... Kevin from @artdecorpictureframing did a great job using black frames with white matting to emphasise the detail and make the paintings 'pop', and it was just lucky that the existing wall colour worked with the colours of country. Some days at work are just pleasureable. Need some pictures hung evenly? Let me know, I'll bring my laser level to get them spot on! FYI, the glass cabinet was knocked up from a flat pack too... 04.01.2022 Here is a shout-out to another territory business hit hard in these times. Thanks Jordy from @offshoreboatsnt for my new work hat! When i needed to update my old faithful trucker cap, I figured that the best solution was to buy one from another business who isn't able to trade, get the name out there and keep the sun of my growing forehead. Just doing my bit I hope. Looking forward to getting out on the water soon. ... #offshoreboatsnt #jobsdonent
03.01.2022 Another awesome transformation to a western facing back patio with @stratco Ambient blinds. This time, 1% openness fabric was used to get maximum sun blocking. A bit of custom fabricating on the side and a great looking addition with benefits to boot. The owners are already reporting a noticeable difference to the temperature in their living room now the sun is no longer beating through the back windows onto the tile floor. Both of these blinds are the maximum 10 square metr...es, hence the drop is different as the widths of the two blinds are different. With the Regent series of blinds, you can have them at any height from full up to full down if aesthetics are your thing, or go maximum for maximum block out. Job's Done....
03.01.2022 As Darwin's installer for Stratco's Ambient outdoor blinds, I am getting the opportunity to see just how they can change an outdoor space into the place where we can, and want, to spend time. The view from this deck is amazing, but the western setting sun takes that moment of magic away. Blind installed. Magic back!... This blind is over 5 metres wide, with no joins or seams and is custom fitted to the space which not only makes it look sharp, but gives the best protection from the rays without disturbing the view. Job's Done!
