19.01.2022 "I have been a ‘Christian’ my whole life. Up until 2 years ago I went to church, sang worship, and took communion but it was always because I was told to and truly my faith was not my own. I knew the basic story of Jesus and how he sacrificed himself for our sins and rose on the third day, yet I thought that irrational and I didn’t know why He actually did it. When I moved from England to Geelong I was entirely disorientated and was away from almost everyone I knew so I was v...erging on feeling completely alone. One fateful night I decided to pray out of my own initiative and asked God, I need Your help, please guide me towards what I must do to feel truly in Your arms, to be Your child and to know Your true self, and God being God, He provided. I stumbled across a TikTok post made by a Christian creator who asked 3 simple questions. ‘Are you a good person?’, I said yes, ‘Have you broken any of the commandments?’, I said yes, ‘Then are you still a good person’, and I realised the answer was no. It dawned on me that Jesus didn’t just sacrifice Himself and then go back to heaven, He bled and died on the cross so we may be with Him, so we don’t take that same punishment on the day of judgement. John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life’. Jesus loves us all and I’m now extremely glad that I know and love Him now (especially now that I know the consequences haha). Although I still trip and stumble, I have been justified by Christ, I am still looking forward to what life might throw at me but now I know that Jesus has my back. I’m still plodding through my walk in faith but now that I know who the true King is, my walk is so much clearer. These Care Packages will be gifted to individuals and families who are doing it tough this Christmas. Instead of asking for food donations we will be asking for financial donations to help put together Christmas hampers.
