If you think that there should be more money put into things like this get your calculator out and calculate 1% of $2 Trillion dollars. I think that is $20billion dollars however don't quote me on this as it is a big number and whilst i am a finance graduate i deal in numbers of this scale on a daily basis. ... Given that it is $20b speak to your local Federal politician and local talk back radio station, You tube, social media and any other vehicle that is used to communicate in this modern world and ask them when they will get super funds to devote 1% of their funds to bone fide research and development of ideas such as this. Australians have brilliant minds and ideas and let us give them the capital to explore what they can do. Look at the faces on the people working on this project and tell me it is not rewarding work. Look at the face of the beneficiary of this research in this story and tell me it is not fantastic work. Look at the outcome to the family and then look at the broad commercial outcomes that could come from this technology for all able bodied people as well. The scope for this technology is endless. Let us get the political debate towards how the capital in superannuation can be applied to create jobs for Aussies and great medical and technological outcomes for the world by allocating a small percentage of our long term patient capital and let us see what benefits it brings. I vomit every time i hear talk about superannuation in the media and political circles as the word Tax is in every sentence. We hear every day that Australia needs capital and innovation. Well superannuation is capital that is readily available and we have innovation right here in this and many other areas of scientific research that is going on all around Australia. Superannuation can provide needed capital for worthwhile projects. Think about it this way, if this technology does not work and has no commercial use it has still created interesting jobs for everyone involved and if the super funds lose all of their 1% it will take them 2-4 months to recover it with the normal performance of the other 99% of their portfolio. The upside is enormous and the risk is limited to 1% of capital. If you like this idea send this to all of your friends and let us get some good debate in this election campaign and do something for Australia that will last longer than the 2 months of the campaign.

07.01.2022 Great to see Lucas Herbert playing so well at the Australian Open. In the last group on the final day with Jason Day. We had a great day playing in the Lake Karrinyup Wednesday Comp in April. Lucas and i had a side individual match play game going where he gave me 15 shots and a 3 up beating. With Steven Hauville and Damon Lonnie we had a great day and a lemonade or 2 at the 19th. Hoping for one more good round for Lucas on Sunday. Follow Lucas @lhgolf5

Anyway it was another great meeting with happy clients and why being a financial planner is such a rewarding occupation.
