25.01.2022 Lockdown 2.0 means we've taken a deep breath and optimistically rescheduled The Launch for August 28-30! :) Contact us to find out how this retreat can further equip you for missions work.

23.01.2022 Please read our latest OMS Australia office update.

23.01.2022 Need some good news? We have plenty today! Look for three positive updates over the next several hours. :D First up... We are excited to introduce our newest missionary candidates, Alfonso & Siriwan Salguero. The Salgueros will live in Thailand, serving as missionary care support workers where needed in the Asia-Pacific region. This couple is eager to use their ministry experience here in Australia to share the love of Jesus wherever they go, and especially to strengthen the ...work of other missionaries. Even in these uncertain times, the call from our Lord to go and share the gospel with others remains the same. We're so excited that the Salgueros are taking obedient steps forward! Just imagine what great things God will do. Please join us in praying for this couple as they finish fundraising training and begin other preparation for their overseas ministry. And let's celebrate....because even a virus can't stop God's glory from shining!

23.01.2022 Our office is closed, but as one of our missionaries shared, "the mission hasn't changed!" Our staff met virtually to work on processing donations for our missionaries, and online fundraising training began for our newest missionary who looks forward to serving in Israel when God plans. How have you been able to creatively serve with God in this new global environment?

23.01.2022 Shayne Rochfort, OMS Australia missionary to Thailand, will be at this year's Connect! For the first time OMS Australia is taking Connect online. Join us 2 PM AEST on October 24 here on Facebook Live or on YouTube. :) RSVP 'Going' to stay up to date on the details: Connect 2020

21.01.2022 We are so grateful for testimonies of believers from years past. Since the days of the Apostle Paul, Christians have been serving God where He calls despite famine, war, and disease. The Helsby family were OMS missionaries serving in Asia during a time of war. Their story is one of holy confidence in the Living God in Heaven despite the chaos on earth. Be encouraged by their testimony today!

20.01.2022 OMS's quarterly magazine is online and ready for you to read! Check out stories and news from around the world.

20.01.2022 The Roennfeldt family had their visa appointment yesterday in Adelaide. Please pray for the visas to be granted in God's timing, and for the family to continue to be blessed by God's people as they prepare for missionary service in Japan.

19.01.2022 The Launch is a retreat for people with a calling to ministry and missions. Our opening session will help you to pinpoint what you need to hear from Jesus in order to take your next step. 19.01.2022 It's a rainy day in most of Melbourne, but our office team met up over Zoom to finalise our... new website! A few finishing touches will be added over the coming days. Have a look around and let us know if there's a way we can improve. :D

18.01.2022 It is a privilege to send off Michael and Annabelle Roennfeldt and their young family, to follow their calling to bring the love of Christ to the Japanese people. The Rownnfeldts begin their ministry assignment in a local church on the Gold Coast. Please pray for Gods timing in open doors to Japan.

14.01.2022 Can you join us in prayer? Kylie Lau, based in Taiwan, is serving in the Asia-Pacific region through leadership training and discipleship events like Renew Retreats. - PRAISE for the two cohorts going through leadership training. These leaders come from seven different nations and meet online. - PRAISE for continued connections happening in Taiwan as Kylie seeks to share the gospel and see people changed for Christ. - PRAY for increased language skills and for Kylie's hard w...ork at learning Mandarin to come to fruition! - PRAY for the seeds of the gospel that Kylie has had the opportunity to sow, that they will find good soil and grow. - PRAY for the leaders currently in training to apply what they are learning and use their influence for God's kingdom. 14.01.2022 Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing stories and insight into why NOW - yes, even now - is the right time to say yes to God's Great Commission. :D Watch this space!

14.01.2022 If you missed part of Connect 2020 this past Saturday, the entire program can be found on our YouTube channel. Things really start off at 31 minutes in, so you can move ahead to begin there. :) Check out the link in the comments.

14.01.2022 Jesus' last command on earth was for His disciples to go into all the world and share the gospel. Even a global pandemic can't change His word. We're awed to see people responding "Yes!" to God's call for them to enter missions. The Launch is filling up quickly - just 3 spaces remain. Message us here on Facebook or email [email protected]!

13.01.2022 Thank you for donating to the Vanuatu appeal! After a cyclone hit the islands, our ministry partners in Santo wanted to help provide for those who lost their homes and food sources. These photos are from a recent food distribution thanks to your generosity. At last count, you've given $2,500! Thus far $1000 was sent to our partners for food supplies. We will send the remainder for our ministry partners to purchase building supplies to rebuild/repair homes when the hardware shops are replenished. If you'd like to give to this appeal, please use the donation info here: www.omsaus.org/donate - message us here or email us at [email protected] if there are any questions. Thank you!

13.01.2022 This is your time to say "yes" to God's calling! Michael and Annabelle are preparing to join the team serving God in Japan...but the need is great. Called to minister in Japan? We are ready and eager to begin equipping you for the missionary journey God has planned for you. Email us at [email protected] - or send us a message here on Facebook - to get in touch.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, There was an error during Connect livestreaming and the video was blocked from showing. We will get back to you shortly to share a Zoom link so we can meet together. Apologies - you can still watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/cha/UCM4a948nMYqXMswTa0j10IA/videos

12.01.2022 Tiffany Carlson, you're a legend. Special thanks to Tiffany for spending several weeks of her summer break in an online internship with our mobilisation coordinator. Tiffany (who was born into the OMS family - her parents Greg & Shirley Carlson still serve today) had planned to spend July in Melbourne with our OMS HQ team, but of course, plans had to be adapted. She was a great help to us in planning our upcoming mobilisation campaign. Thanks, Tiffany!

11.01.2022 Special thanks to all of you who joined us on YouTube and here on Facebook Live for our Connect 2020. It was great to catch up afterwards on Zoom with more than a dozen OMS Australia friends & family representing ministry in more than six countries! Thank you to Oscar Jiménez for taking the time to share with us from London. Thank you to Kia Bongers for volunteering to put together the recording and preparing the live stream! And thank you to everyone who prays, supports, and encourages the OMS missionary family to continue following our calling from God to share the joy of the gospel. :)

11.01.2022 In Central Asia, the team regularly distributes food packages to the poor. Due to lockdown restrictions, they were not going to be able to. But they appealed to government leaders and received an unexpected response. They not only issued a pass to each of our staff members to freely go through the streets but also assisted us in buying items and packing the packages. When we started distributing them, the head of the local government asked, We have 51 more families that need... urgent food aid, could you help them also? But we are severely limited in resources We have dozens more examples of urgent needs, including pastors in India, prisoners in Colombia, flood victims in the DRC, families in South Asia, and more. Many are more concerned about dying of hunger than from the virus. In these uncertain times, we have unprecedented opportunities to save lives, give hope, and transform hearts for Jesus...even in some countries that are typically closed to OMS. Would you prayerfully consider giving a donation of any amount to our Worldwide Relief Fund? Please take time now to pray for God's provision and mercy for those in desperate need. Donation information here www.omsaus.org/donate

11.01.2022 As a sixth-year medical student in Russia, Ramil found a Christian book 'by chance.' He attended a church where he met Jesus and repented of his former life. Ramil went on to plant a church and take on a role as head of a health department in his area. He was offered "the position of the Minister of Health of the Region if I deny Christ. I denied the offer, to remain a minister of God...And here I am I am a doctor. I deal with physically sick people all the time. I am a p...astor. I deal with spiritually sick people all the time. And I especially these days under the coronavirus pandemic serve as a common denominator of the two, just like Jesus said, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.' (Mark 2:17)" Ramil is also a student at the Moscow Seminary, an OMS partner ministry. If you'd like to receive updates for prayer, please send us a message. :) To make a financial donation please click on the link the comments below.

10.01.2022 Wow! Challenging words from Dr. Wesley Duewel, former missionary to India and OMS president, as well as a prolific author. Dr. Duewel served God in missions for 75 years and was a faithful servant until he went to his heavenly home in 2016. Are you hungry for obedience?

After that, there will be no food left." - Update from contacts in Vanuatu THANK YOU for giving to the Vanuatu appeal after part of the island nation was hit by a category 5 cyclone! 07.01.2022 Last week a category 5 cyclone made landfall on Vanuatu, right where many of our ministry contacts live. An area called Ban Ban was completely destroyed, including our ministry partner's church. The pastor and his wife are Korean missionaries who helped us lead the Chinese group until it became more self-sustaining. This has come to Vanuatu at a time when the country was already in a state of emergency to deal with the threat of COVID-19. We are collecting funds to send to our ministry partners to assist with the urgent needs! If you can contribute to this appeal, please give here: www.omsaus.org/donate As we are working from home now, please message us here on Facebook or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

06.01.2022 Here's your reminder that God and the mission He's given to all his believers can't be stopped by even a global pandemic! :) We're rejoicing with our friends at One Mission Society New Zealand as missionary Chuni Pema begins serving in the Cook Islands, a new field for OMS. :D Please take a moment to pray for Chuni as he begins this new adventure.

06.01.2022 Ready to end the week with good news? Pastor Josie and her husband Leslie, our ministry partners in the Northern Territory, are starting a new church in a community called Fifteen Mile! They are doing so with the blessing and support of the community president and members. Pastor Josie and Leslie would like to purchase a speaker and light for the community hall where they will hold meetings. If you'd like to donate to this project, please use this link: https://www.australia.onemissionsociety.org/donate

We're excited to have them, and most of the Carlson family, here in Melbourne. Greg and Shirley will be helping the OMS Australia base to stay in closer contact with supporters and will continue some elements of Greg's current missionary care role. See more

04.01.2022 FYI - an update on the phone situation!

04.01.2022 Your prayer is needed. Pastor Josie & her husband, Leslie, have also experienced ministry changes due to the global health crisis. They are unable to go minister in person to the indigenous communities outside of Darwin. At the same time, Pastor Josie has been able to enrol in Australian College of Ministry for an online ministry diploma. We're all excited about how this will further enrich her missions work! Due to the cost, Pastor Josie is unable to have her own regular ...internet connection. She does her study through prepaid data. Will you pray for wisdom and creative ideas for Pastor Josie and Leslie to remotely minister to the people in their care? Please also prayerfully consider donating to their ministry, particularly to assist Pastor Josie with the needed internet connection. https://www.australia.onemissionsociety.org/donate Please note that our office is closed, but if you have any questions please message us here on Facebook or email [email protected] to arrange a phone call. :)

04.01.2022 We're looking ahead and trusting God for what He has in store! This July we will run a small (limit 8 attendees) retreat for people who are called to mission. For more details see our Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/367342217521679/

02.01.2022 Only someone with real courage would marry into a headhunter's family! This fascinating story gives a glimpse into the origins of OMS' ministry in Taiwan.

01.01.2022 More good news...thanks to your generous giving, we were able to raise $2,500 to send to our ministry partners in Vanuatu following the devastating cyclone. Emergency food supplies were bought and distributed, and the remaining funds will go to buying building supplies to repair damaged and destroyed homes when the supplies are available. You can still donate to the fund! Please designate to "Vanuatu," or if giving online choose "Mercy - Vanuatu Cyclone." --> www.omsaus.org/donate

01.01.2022 Missionary Spotlight: Scott and Sarah Morrison (OMS Australia) serve in Issan, Thailand, doing evangelism and church planting. In this time of social isolation,... they have seen more openness to the Gospel than ever before. Here is a recent conversation they had: What work do you do? Our kuay tiaw (noodle soup) seller asked me. We talk of the way out of karma and sin. I replied. Oh really?! I have lots of that! Well this is the reason we moved here - to speak of the one who gives us salvation from karma and sin. Please could you teach me? I would love to know more! Pray for many more great opportunities like this. Pray, too, as they are a long distance from teammates, their children cannot find playmates, and they feel especially isolated in these days. Jesus, fill the missing gaps in their lives so that they can be an outpouring of blessing to the people they serve.
