20.01.2022 The first week of the new year is such a powerful time to reflect on existing practices and rituals and to make some changes if helpful. To be honest, during the month of December I was a bit slack with my routines, even though I know how good I feel if they are in place. No, I am not giving myself a hard time. But since I know for myself that it's the little things that can often make a big difference, I am trying to start the new year in ways that set a good foundation for ...the months to come. So for me, this means to come back to reading a few pages of my book at night before going to sleep, to start the day with a movement practice of any kind (Yoga/ run/ swim...), to have my fridge full of healthy produce, to return to my daily gratitude practice, to journal regularly and to eat healthy treats when I crave something sweet. As I do like to indulge on something sweet every now and then, I try to have a healthier, homemade option in my fridge or freezer, if possible. So today, I made my all-time favourite again, a simple, quick and sooo YUM recipe, kindly shared by the wonderful @thewholedaily. I playfully call them TAHINI BITES, (or as my friend's son would say, "Bikini Bites" ). SLICE: 1 cup cashews blitzed in the food processor until it resembles a fine powder 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp rice malt syrup (2 if you've got a sweet tooth) 2 tsp raw cacao powder 2 tsp tahini paste (sesame seed paste) pinch of sea salt 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste (optional but delicious) CHOC TOP: 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp raw cacao powder 2 tsp rice malt syrup How to make it: Start with the choc top by melting the rice malt syrup, cacao and coconut oil together Pour 1-2 tsp into each silicon mini muffin tray (about 2mm high). Put in the freezer to set and make the slice. For slice, melt rice malt syrup and coconut oil together in a small bowl over simmering water and stir into the cashew powder along with the cacao, tahini and vanilla bean paste if you’re using Roll into tsp sized balls and press into the muffin pan on top of the set choc top and press to even out. Place into the freezer for 15 minutes or until set and eat straight from the freezer

11.01.2022 IT'S GIVING YOGA WEEK Describing what Yoga gives me in just a few words is hard. Without a doubt, it had been the most profound, insightful and healing journey I have ever embarked on. Yoga has totally changed my life in many different ways. The practice has helped me to show no signs or symptoms of early onset arthritis anymore, it has helped me deal in a helpful way with stress and major life changes and challenges. It has deeply connected me to myself, life,... mother earth and other beings. It has provided a much needed anchor when my boat was rocking. It opened my heart- mind to new ways of being and has continued to surprise me every single day. 10.01.2022 Thank you @heartspaceretreat for inviting me to co- host a magical weekend of deep connection, organic nourishment, open- hearted sharing, spontaneous laughter, enriching conversations, healing explorations, untamed playfulness, and mutual inspiration. The energy of this wonderful group was noticeable from day one and further enriched by day three. I am feeling deeply grateful for the invitation to hold space and to guide the group through yogic practices and a wholistic health workshop this weekend. 08.01.2022 How much fun it was to start my Saturday morning teaching a "Family Fun Yoga" class as part of #givingyogaweek on behalf of @theyogafoundation We moved, we laughed, we challenged ourselves (and our family members) with partner yoga, explored deep abdominal breathing and took an imaginary walk on the beach. I also taught two other very different classes this week: "Chair Yoga for Seniors" and "Calm your Nervous System" , incorporating my learning and experience as ...a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, School Teacher and Somatic Experiencing and Counseling student. Good news: IT'S NOT TOO LATE! We are celebrating International Day of Yoga with two more very special sessions tomorrow. 07.01.2022 My heart and passion lies in the work of @theyogafoundation, through which I have been teaching programs for disadvanteged teens, people experiencing complex mental health issues such as PTSD and bipolar disorder, people with intellectual disabilities, women affected by domestic violence and populations affected by drug and alcohol abuse and homelessness. These programs DO make a difference by providing a sense of stability and community in an otherwise uncertain, threatenin...g and lonely living environment. They help to manage various complex health concerns, teach coping mechanisms and skills to improve health and well-being. They help to feel safe, to heal, to engage, to learn, to share and be heard. 07.01.2022 Such a simple, yet powerful quote! Today I choose DAY ONE. I have contemplated it for a long time. I was scared, nervous and hesitant. So many factors weighing heavily against it... and so many factors speaking so loudly to my heart. I know I can do it and most importantly, it feels right. And so it begins...... 36 years old and back to uni/ college while keeping engaged in the work I love. It is never too late... never too late to do this thing you always wanted to do. To travel to that place that you always dreamt of. To learn what you are meant to learn. To try what has sparked your curiosity.
