22.01.2022 Yesterday I hosted what was my lowest key event EVER! My daughter Blake had her naming day, and when I say low key, I mean I bought ready made sandwhiches & wraps from Costco, wore no shoes all day, paid for my hair to be curled but put it up because it was too hot and my family sat on a mixture of my dining room chairs, our bar stools and our outdoor furniture chairs if youd have told me even 4 months ago that I would have had an event like this, firstly I would have d...ropped dead and secondly, I would have been annoyed at myself for not putting in so much effort. BUT, yesterday Blake was surrounded by her family on both sides, we were blessed with no rain (which if you know me, is a blessing for my own personal events!) and we all laughed and smiled and celebrated a beautiful life, (and I didnt once look around and cringe that my family werent on matching chairs) I DIYd the crap out of the balloon garlands which I ended up loving sick (Ill post the link in a separate post of which one I followed) I promise you the blisters on your fingers are 1000% worth it, the photos dont do the end result justice! (thanks to my mama and husband for helping me blow them up) Flowers of course by Van at The Little Market Posie - Weddings & Events who always has my back and I would trust with my life - Thankyou babe once again for bringing my vision to life and creating arrangements so magical, you just make my life so easy and you are a beautiful, beautiful soul Cake by Cakes By Abbi , whos mama makes the most divine chocolate cake and Abbi who decorates the crap out of every single cake and gets super excited when you give her free reign of the cake. Love your work as always my love (I can assure you that it tastes just as amazing without the pregnancy cravings!) Debbie Wood , thankyou for the most beautiful ceremony! Your voice is beautiful and you could be talking about rubbish in a dump yard, and everyone would still listen and be mesmerised by your beautiful and calm voice- thank you! xx

21.01.2022 As of late, so many people have been asking what Im doing with OOAK- and the answer is... Im still undecided. I dont want to sell to just anyone- I need someone to love it as much as I do, to have the passion to stand at a table for an hour and make it perfect- to coordinate a day, make timelines and schedules fit for the Queen of England. I cant just hand it over to someone who isnt going to love and nurture my baby as I have. So, Im taking expressions of interest- I h...ave a wedding in April where I can show you the ropes, show you the few days leading up to the wedding, to show you how to rock a schedule where your suppliers will rave and thank you for being so organised - I need to be picky, for my own peace of mind. OOAK is a business where you can make as much or as little money as you choose. Its in your own hands- you can carefully select which events you want to work on and take the jobs where you know in your heart that you will shine. 16.01.2022 On Wednesday 3rd October, my gorgeous husband & I welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world, Blake Martha Jessie We are absolutely overwhelmed with love for our sweet daughter, and cherish every single second of watching her grow and evolve so far- she is just everything! Which brings me to the reason Im writing this post! ... This year has seen me battling severe hyperemesis in my pregnancy, and when that was finally over, taking on more responsibility in the family business and of course following on from that, becoming a mum. I would never allow myself to fall behind or not give my clients 100%, however at this time, I obviously want to spend as much time with my husband and baby, as I know all new mums would totally understand. So its with my heart full of love, gratitude, passion and a little sadness, that I have decided to close One of a Kind Weddings & Events, whether that be temporarily or permanently, Im yet to decide. I just wanted to say a ginormous thankyou, to my ever so loyal suppliers- you guys have been so amazing to me & my clients, I will forever continue to recommend you to anyone I come across, and of course keep in contact with you! You are a huge part of what helped OOAK to succeed, and Ill be forever grateful To my clients, past & present- thankyou for giving me the privilege to be such a crucial part of your special day. You guys have been so unbelievably incredible, and weve pulled off some ahhhhhh-mazing weddings together. I will literally cherish you, and our time together forever!! And of course my ride or die OOAK girls, Carolyn (my grandma), Jo (my mama) & Paige (my sister in law) - we all know I couldnt have done any of this without you. From volunteering on disgustingly hot days or in the pouring rain, to spray painting clients last minute decorations on their front lawn an hour before they walk down the aisle, making sure I was always fed & hydrated, and of course keeping me sane. I love you, I love you, I love you- the 4 of us make one hell of a team and I love you so much. Thankyou for coming on this crazy journey with me (even though you never really had a choice) Obviously, all booked in Weddings will remain, however Ill no longer be taking bookings effective immediately. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou a million times, for your love, support and encouragement over the last 2 years- you have all been incredible! I had the absolute privilege of officially becoming my nephew Oaklans Godmother - & what a beaut day it was! I finally tried my hand at sign writing (being an obsessed Aunty will do this to you) & Paige & I practised our platter making skills...yet again This makes me even more excited for my little bundle due to arrive in 6 weeks- I absolutely cannot wait! ... 02.01.2022 DIY BALLOON GARLAND SO these balloon garlands are a MASSIVE trend at the moment, and super last minute I decided I wanted one for Blakes naming day, so there was no other choice but to do a bit of DIY- I searched YouTube & of course Pinterest, tried a few methods (ie. fishing line - Which I found too hard!) and concluded that this was the easiest way (link below) So I probably spent $20 on balloons from BIG W (pastel ones from Kmart Australia) bought cotton twine ($6),... some clear sticky hanging hooks from Bunnings Warehouse Australia ($4) and well, I have to say I was pretty stoked with the result for a fraction of the price! It looks complicated, not going to lie, your head and lungs wont thank you for it if your like me and didnt buy a balloon pump, not to mention your fingers from tying the balloons and twine, I have blisters BUT I look at this and see it was totally worth it & pretty damn cool for my first try! Have a go! Try it out for yourself, and let me know what you think clever ones! Ps.
