25.01.2022 New relocatable long drop toilet for the cabin, made from 90% scrounge. When it's full, we'll just dig a new hole, move the loo and plant a tree in the old one.

24.01.2022 ***EDIT: Delighted to say that we've found someone to take the place on! Thanks for sharing everyone.*** Off-grid home and workshop on 350 forested acres for rent in the lovely rural community of Pappinbarra NSW, from early Jan 2021. $300 a week. It's 45 minutes from Wauchope with 7kms of dirt road, usually but not always okay for a 2WD. Ideal for artists, makers, or people who can work from home, set up to grow your own food, and a paradise for kids. The main shed is a big... high-clearance workshop space with a home built around it - two bedrooms plus a loft and an attic play space. There's also a self contained shipping container cabin that sleeps 2. Standalone solar power system, 60,000 litres of rain water storage, composting toilet, netted orchard and vege patch, shaded greenhouse, fire fighting setup, and kilometres of walking trails. We're looking for someone practical and environmentally-minded to take our place on for up to 3 years - 1 year at first is fine, and see how you go. Previous experience with bush life would be helpful. If you're interested, send an email to [email protected] and tell us a bit about yourselves, how this place could work for you, and what you'd like to know more about. See more

23.01.2022 If only it was this easy!

21.01.2022 Submissions are now open for the Wauchope Riverside Sculptural Trail! There are some great sites, interesting briefs and proper funding, check it out. You have to live in or have a connection to the region, or else offer professional development opportunities to local artists. 21.01.2022 Who ya gonna call? Terrapin. Performing at @SalamancaMarketPlace this Saturday between 10:30 and 12:30. Catch you there?

20.01.2022 It's culling time at Onelot, and there will be some strange things to give away. If you're interested, let me know! First up is a series of hanging boots that were made for a project with Riggerous long ago. The project was called Pteropus and we were trying to turn people into fruit bats. We tested these boots for comfort and useability, and also measured people's heart rates after hanging upside down for a while. HEEL HANGS - one large pair, one small. Quite comfortable t...o hang in but difficult to walk when you're strapped in - you have to mince like you're on stilettos. TOE HANGS - not recommended unless you're a ballerina, as they pull your ankles into a hard pointe. Comfy to walk in though. Size 6-7 women's SHIN HANGS - probably the most comfortable to hang in, walking's a bit weird. Size medium.

18.01.2022 Around here, at this time of year, we like to start the day with a dawn disco. Sometimes we can see the shape of the trees repeated upside down in every little fleck of light. Discoball, I love you!

18.01.2022 This is Tip Duck, known to some of you as a Bin Chicken or Australian White Ibis. It's been great to be working on mechanisms again! Now for the mind-numbing hours of feather making. Terrapin

17.01.2022 We made it back to Onelot a couple of days before the border closed, to find our place blooming with new understorey growth - the fire scars are everywhere but it's phenomenal what good rains have wrought. Home!!

09.01.2022 Big welcome to Denni, artist in residence at Onelot for the next couple of weeks! Check out her new clip with Greeley, Runaways.... Every city feels the same, I hear you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjDnDUaZaHgW

03.01.2022 I'm delighted that the last remnants of the Frugal Forest have gone to Erth, to live again in another show. Erth supported the Forest project all the way through and their cash donation even helped it to survive in a threadbare moment. They'll transform these re-recycled ingredients into a new and wonderful experience, embedded with rich layers of stories: the schoolkids and dementia groups, artists and communities who lovingly crafted every leaf from stuff that was headed to landfill and had its own stories to tell. Hooray, thanks Erthies!

02.01.2022 Covid safe Onelot style... new outdoor bathroom for the cabin so our artists in residence can keep to themselves. I highly recommend showering in the sunshine.

01.01.2022 Next giveaway. These boards are for winding string, very soothing and absorbing for kids and also a fun way to talk about patterns and geometry. Comes with spools of salvaged baling twine, which can be unwound and re-used. Maybe you know a family daycare or preschool that would like these?
