23.01.2022 A heartfelt article on the importance of preserving (and reviving) Aboriginal languages
20.01.2022 What sorts of messages can you convey with a talking poster? We worked with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to produce talking posters with messaging about the "Don't Make Smokes Your Story", Quitline initiative. 95 talking posters in 15 languages were produced and sent across Australia as part of this project, with the aim of the initiative to warn about the dangers of and encourage indigenous Australians to quit smoking cigarettes.... 18.01.2022 How do you talk to someone who doesn’t understand your language? What good are written translations to someone who can’t read? Because Aboriginal languages were traditionally only spoken it makes sense that audio is the key to the communication gap. OneTalk Technology offers a way to reach Aboriginal audiences with a controlled message, in language and in a medium that is engaging, flexible and accessible. ... The idea of communicating in language is not new, however we are taking traditional marketing tools, such as posters and albums and giving them a new dimension. http://www.onetalktechnology.com.au/ #Onetalktechnology #Talkingposters
17.01.2022 Like many other Australian Indigenous languages, the Larrakia language has been all but lost since Europeans settled in the Darwin region.
16.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW ?! Indigenous communications is an exciting challenge requiring experience and appropriate systems. There are 26 languages spoken in 51 main communities in the Northern Territory and many of these have English as a second language and low levels of literacy and numeracy.
15.01.2022 Illustrations are a culturally sensitive and appropriate way to depict a scene or story. They also do not date, ensuring longevity of your campaign. That's why OneTalk Technology works with illustrators who can provide diverse illustrative styles from simple line art to detailed caricatures, customised to suit budgets and timeframes. http://www.onetalktechnology.com.au/products/... #Onetalktechnology #Illustration #Closingthegap

13.01.2022 While Indigenous communities have grown, the use of traditional languages has shrunk. The percentage of people using the mostly widely spoken of the 150 Indigenous languages had declined in all categories. Arnhem Land and Daly River Region languages were down to 16.1 percent from 18.2 percent at the 2006 census, Torres Strait Islander language use was down to 11 percent from 11.7 percent, Western Desert languages had the biggest percentage fall from 14 percent to 11.1 percent, and Yolngu Matha use had fallen to 11.6 percent from 11.2 percent.

12.01.2022 A real life example where a OneTalk Technology Talking Poster or Talking Album could come in handy.
09.01.2022 Difficulties involved with communicating with Aboriginal and multilingual audiences are well documented. Finding a solution has proved to be time-consuming and expensive until now! OneTalk Technology's Talking albums feature 200 minutes of recording time across 20 internal pages, each with its own unique play/stop button, an earphone socket for personal listening and are supplied with batteries and a faux leather cover. Messages in a talking album cannot be re-recorded, me...aning you can be assured that messages left behind in a community will remain as intended. http://www.onetalktechnology.com.au/talking-albums/ Call One Talk on 08 89805700 or email [email protected] to find out more. #Onetalktechnology #Closingthegap #Talkingproducts
