24.01.2022 Need a reminder to look up somewhere vaguely near the webcam on those endless Zoom/Facetime/Teams meetings? I got you, fam.

22.01.2022 If you can't brand your own homebrew, what exactly is the point of being a designer?

18.01.2022 And back at it today! The whole gag here was that when I first moved the office home (years ago), instead of opening hours I’d just have Get your head right on the doors. 99% of the time it’s just me so the message is for me to see (and absorb the wisdom of). My mate Ben Lambert @blamillo did a beautiful job of the the type treatment for it ages ago and I hope I’ve done it justice.

15.01.2022 Look what came back from the good folks at Shiver Me Timbers - lasercut tap heads. Lovely job!

14.01.2022 Spent the morning following @matt.osborne.images and @kiphotomedia as they shot for Tas Bike Collective, the kids were total naturals in front of the camera.

14.01.2022 Studio milestone. This 100 year old press sat patiently for 30+ years in a shed in Derby, and then I bought it and it had to sit patiently for another 7 years. I got the studio electrical upgraded last week and this press deserved to be the first one to move again.

13.01.2022 Here’s the extremely cruisy can artwork for the Return of the Mack a dang juicy hazy ale from the mad scientist beerologists Iron House Brewery

12.01.2022 We use Eye Spy Signs a lot, and this is a fantastic offer for any businesses struggling right now.

12.01.2022 Installing a good vibes boost this weekend. Setting Get your head right on studio double doors. Type by my mate @blamillo and projector pinched from @matt.osborne.images for the weekend.

12.01.2022 Well, that's a big one.

09.01.2022 Saturday night special - a bit of me time to signwrite the studio double doors. About half way. Learned a fair bit on the job. Huge thanks again to @blamillo for his beautiful type treatment.

07.01.2022 The other side of the tap head for the Pelt hopped cider. Truly, it's the little things.

05.01.2022 I'm delighted to announce that I've been invited to be a juror for the AGDA 2020 Awards (in the print & student print categories). Covid-19 has brought judging 100% online which has allowed AGDA to invite specialist judges from all over the planet. It's a real joy, completely inspiring and a privilege to look at such a huge volume of the best creative work in the country. https://www.agda.com.au/agda-a/agda-design-awards-2020/jury

04.01.2022 Vale Milton Glaser. From the beautiful Hillman Curtis artist series. Worrying solves nothing.

03.01.2022 Do you know anyone is who is thinking of a career as a designer? I teach design part time with TasTAFE and i'm always happy to chat about options if you know someone who might be a good fit! We take year 12 leavers through to mature age students. This video runs through the Cert IV in Design, and the Diploma in Graphic Design at TasTAFE, and gives ALL the information (it's very comprehensive) about how the courses work.... Please feel free to pass it on!

02.01.2022 Bonnie is a legend, and this offer helping folks develop their business by lending an ear and her whip smart insights is a winner.

02.01.2022 Thermo, laminator and spotting up light table found a home in the corner behind the Chandler & Price in the studio.

01.01.2022 I haven't done an email or an update because you're probably sick of reading about it, and I've mostly been trying to help my clients as things have gone from mildly concerning to pretty dang scary, quite quickly. I have a bit of trouble with anxiety myself and focusing on work has helped me navigate the middle of the night as I settle our boy to back to sleep. There's nothing quite like the wee small hours of the morning for a born worrier. I am home with a sniffle and a co...ugh today, which in other circumstances would have me in at work teaching, but I'm staying home just in case. It's going to be a tough time in business - even businesses not directly effected, will be. There will be less money floating about and people are battening down the hatches. Hopefully it all blows over quickly and doesn't go the way it's been going in other countries. I am part time self-employed and I teach part time, and I think our household will be ok. But many households simply won't. You know to shop local, because we all know that (but somehow we still shop with Coles or Woolies). Genuinely, we need shop local. Keep your gym membership, buy merch from artists you love who can't gig right now, check out drive through service that a lot of cafes and restaurants are offering. Keep an eye out and support small businesses offering new services, in many cases, they are trying innovate and keep hustling to stay afloat. If you can, spend money with them. There's a million ways to support small business which also protect our wider community and build resilience. Spending money in the local community gives the biggest bang for buck in restarting a slowing economy. Apart from all the good health advice, the best thing we can do is be there for each other. Our actions have knock on effects for the whole. I hope we remember the lesson that this planet is smaller than we think, as we still urgently need to take climate action. Finally, look out for the helpers. The best thing about the worst things is seeing the human spirit in action.
