24.01.2022 Over the last couple of weeks, isolation has really been getting to me. Not in a bad way, just giving me a longing to get out and behind the camera again. Despite photography taking a backseat for the last year, not being able to get out, explore, and capture the moment is really bugging me. I'm hanging to visit the back beaches, to hit the High Country tracks, wherever adventure waits! Here's an older image of mine - who knows where it was taken?

24.01.2022 Following the movement of caterpillars on our backyard fence, this appears to be the moth coming out of the cocoon (correct me if I'm wrong). So again, we are witnessing the full lifecycle across the hundreds of caterpillars along the fence :) Captured on an Olympus OMD EM5 mkii with 12-40mm f2.8 lens - no macro lens, just a very nice lens with close-up focus capabilities :) Get Olympus

23.01.2022 When the sunset is a good one, and you're taking a photo over the vineyards, then remember that the quirkiest, strangest but most amazing building is right near by! The d'Arenberg Cube consists of 4 levels of awesomeness, from strange art, a beautiful restaurant, a bar/tasting level full of sweet sweet wines and amazing views - it all just works so well!! South Australia McLaren Vale

22.01.2022 When recently staying at the Robe Holiday Park in South Australia, a short walk from camp took us to the banks of Lake Fellmongery, and what better place to try and catch a sunset. Using a few NiSi filters on the trusty Nikon, this image is the result of a 4 minute exposure. Thoughts?

20.01.2022 Fungus, flowers and fruit. Finding things in the backyard to cure boredom during lock-down. All taken in the early afternoon using an OLYMPUS OM-D EM5II with 12-40mm f2.8 lens and speedlight.

19.01.2022 Now that school holiday's are upon us, we need to come up with many ways to entertain the kids, proving difficult as they've spent so much time at home due to isolation during the pandemic. Chalk + Concrete = winner winner chicken dinner! Not just for the kids, but for everyone :) :)... I know I'm not much of an artist, but trust me when I say this was kinda fun ;)

19.01.2022 When the afternoon sun hits the new growth on the fern in the backyard, yep, I'll capture a photo of it - Can't get out for any other photography at the moment :)

17.01.2022 2020 - what a year!! I've had many of you asking whether I'd be putting together a 2021 calendar, and at first I wasn't sure due to not being out of the bounds of my own property for too many months. However, here it is! OnPatrol Photography's 2021 Landscape calendar! If you'd like to grab a copy to hang on your wall, your door, anywhere you see fit, to remind yourself of how stunning Australia is despite not seeing it for the last 6 months, just click the link below :) Ho...pe to hear from you all soon, and thank you for your support! Simon

17.01.2022 Take me back Fiji - couldn’t fault that holiday!

16.01.2022 Hope you're all keeping well! A long time between posts as, simply, I haven't been out for shoots for a long time! Archiving my many photos had me revisiting so many of them I had forgotten I'd taken, so thought I'd share a few as I found them This one is of a local friendly and sleepy koala from our Kangaroo Island trip a couple of years ago, nestled in a tree above the car park.... Funnily enough, out of all my stock photos across quite a few sites, this one has sold nearly than 3 times more than any of my other images! Just a bit of useless information South Australia Authentic Kangaroo Island

15.01.2022 Having spent a couple of weeks in South Australia recently, I thought I would share a few images captured during the trip! Let's see, what did SA mean to me? Wineries, driving on the beach and absolutely perfect coastline. Have you been to South Australia? And what did you think? I personally loved it This image was captured overlooking the vineyards adjacent to the d'Arenberg Cube during one of the more vibrant sunsets witnessed on the trip.... Feedback is always greatly appreciated, so feel free to like, comment and share Captured on a Nikon D800 with 16-35mm Nikkor lens, using NiSi CPL and 3-stop graduated ND filters, on a Manfrotto 055 tripod. Glad to have a ROLA Titan Tray on the roof of my four wheel drive to hold myself and the camera equipment steady for the exposure!

14.01.2022 Fun in the sun!!! Not only does South Australia have beautiful country-side to drive through and amazing wineries to visit, but the beaches... the beaches are stunning!! And what's better than driving on the beach to your own secluded section and setting up for a couple of hours with family and friends :) The Prado handled it all with ease, both front and back beaches as well as the dunes, with the Ironman 4X4 Foam Cell Pro suspension soaking it all up no problems! And the ROLA Titan Tray being a perfect addition to mount accessories to for beach visits!

13.01.2022 It's still so hot in Melbourne Here's an image from Long Beach in Robe SA, and where I'd much prefer to be sitting right now How's everyone coping with the heat?... ROLA Ironman 4X4 South Australia

12.01.2022 We've been spending way too much time at home - can't say we have a choice - and have noticed so many little caterpillars all over the fences. Sorry little guys, time to step into the spotlight and put on a show :) The lifecycle of a caterpillar. By the way, does anyone know what type of caterpillar they are?... Thanks, Simon PS. for those that care about cameras and lenses, this and the coming photos were captured on an Olympus EM5 mkii with 12-40mm f2.8 lens - definitely my favourite camera to be shooting with lately :) Get Olympus

10.01.2022 How do I keep busy with photography when we can't head out? Simple - I "help" the kids with their school activities! Had to "help" my son with his PE which required taking a photo of him completing the activity

07.01.2022 A quick flashback to an image captured along the coastline of Walkerville, overlooking Wilsons Prom. Hmmm, wonder where we will head this year for a getaway...?

06.01.2022 Discovery Lagoon Caravan and Camping grounds - Kangaroo Island. Back in the days when us Victorians could travel more than a few kilometres up the street I took this as a few stormy clouds rolled over at sunset, then went about lighting up the boat and characters with a couple of torches for a single exposure :)... Discovery Lagoon Caravan and Camping Grounds Kangaroo Island Authentic Kangaroo Island South Australia

06.01.2022 Down to the last 10 calendars! If you need a last minute Christmas gift, or a unique present for family/friends/teachers, grab a copy and let's see if we can sell them all by Christmas! https://www.onpatrolphotography.com.au//2020-landscape-pho Thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it :)... 05.01.2022 A follow on from yesterday's post - The lifecycle of a caterpillar. We're not just finding the caterpillar's all over our fences, but also their cocoons - fascinating to see the lifecycle progress. Captured on an Olympus EM5 mkii with 12-40mm f2.8 lens.... Get Olympus
