25.01.2022 Our final work from home tip - If you have kids, don’t worry! Prepare yourself for distraction! Don’t worry, we all know kids can be a handful, especially when they are house bound for a long amount of time! Try to explain the situation to them, give them some understanding of what’s going on and give them activities to do while you are working. You can also try to mix up your work hours so you can spend some time entertaining them. Encourage them to play in the backyard or give them toys that will keep them occupied for long periods of time, and if you can, make sure you get yourself an extra set of hands to help! What's been a helpful tip that you've been using while working from home?

25.01.2022 Ryan O'Neil and I were thrilled to be invited back to UC for the opening of the Ngunnawal centre. We have such a strong connection to this place. Ryan had the chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Ryan is a UC Aboriginal Alumni and Ngunnawal Centre student. Ryan and Professor Peter Radoll were the only two IT undergrads at UC and study buddies; Ryan's mum Bilawara Lee was the Indigenous Liaison for the Ngunnawal centre for many years. It was lovely to chat with Tom Calma and hear him talk about the Lee Family Dynasty at UC. There will be two more Lee Family students added next year when Ella and Casey commence degrees at UC in 2021. Ryan had the chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. #weareuc #indigenouseducation #onpoint_365

24.01.2022 Happy National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day! Today we welcome the opportunity for the whole community to celebrate our children. Each year, mob from all over the Country host and attend events focused on kids, culture, family, and Community.

24.01.2022 Today we honor the memories of brave Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought for our country. We remember all the battles fought, tears cried, and freedom brought to us. This is not a day for celebration but a day of national memory.

23.01.2022 Today on National Sorry Day, we acknowledge and stand by our Indigenous families and communities and are fully committed to the acceptance of the true history of our Nation. In embracing that truth, our hope is that we can all come together in reconciliation and become one with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

23.01.2022 "On Earth Day, we celebrate all the gifts the world and nature make available to us. We recognise our complete dependence on its bounty, and we acknowledge the need for good stewardship to preserve its fruits for future generations."

22.01.2022 Onpoint 365 is still open for business and working hard from many locations! Friday, team drinks went virtual, with special guest visits from pets and babies! Have a lovely weekend, see you next week.

21.01.2022 Work from home tip - Create a comfortable work space! Try not to work from your bed or lounge, although it may seem like the most comfortable place to work, it will be terrible for your posture and will make those areas in your home feel like a place of work and not a place to relax and leave your work behind. If you don’t have a desk you can use the dining room table. You should also try to maintain a clean and tidy work space, this will help you have a clearer mindset when you are working. If you have the space, personalise your work area with some nice pens, notepads or even small plants and make your home office comfortable to work in , it is also a great way to remove the temptation of working from your bed!

20.01.2022 We would like to wish all you fantastic Dads, Stepdads, Grandfathers, and carers standing in their place a very special Happy Father’s Day. Your hard work, love and support does not go unnoticed and is extremely appreciated! Thank you for being our protectors through life! We hope everyone has a lovely day!

18.01.2022 Work from home tip - Fight the urge to multi-task! Try not to get distracted by house chores, give yourself 10 minute breaks throughout the day to get some washing done if you need to but don't allow yourself to get stuck on other chores. If you usually prepare food and snacks on a normal day in the office, you should continue to do that, it will help avoid being distracted in the kitchen during the day. It’s also a good idea not to watch TV or leave the TV on even for background noise.

18.01.2022 Work from home tip - Get some fresh air! Open some windows and curtains, let as much natural daylight and fresh air in as possible! You can sit outside while you have your morning coffee, take a short walk down your street or play with your pets in the back yard for 5 minutes. During this time, we are required to stay inside our homes a lot more, so it is important to get fresh air and daylight when we can, while also remembering to practise good hygiene and social distancing!

18.01.2022 As Anzac Day approaches, COVID-19 is impacting our lives and you may be thinking about how you can commemorate the memory of those who served, those who died and those who are still serving. Tomorrow, Saturday 25th April, we encourage you to light up the dawn by standing at the end of your driveways, balconies or lounge room at 6am to remember all those who served and sacrificed. Hold a candle, lay a wreath or simply mark a moment of silence. You can share your ANZAC spirit on the RSL NSW Facebook page and sign the pledge to light up the dawn at the RSL Anzac Spirit website.

18.01.2022 So it's probably been a few weeks that you have been working from home, we'll share some tips for your success. Although it will be tempting to have a sleep in before jumping out of bed and walking straight over to your home office in pyjama's to begin your day of work, it is important to maintain a set schedule in order to avoid burning yourself out. Make sure you wake up at a normal time, have breakfast, shower and get dressed into real clothes. If you have time getting out for a walk is always a great way to start your morning!

08.01.2022 As Reconciliation Week comes to an end, we would like to recognise another significant day in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history - Mabo Day! On the 3 June 1992, Eddie Koiki Mabo a Torres Strait Islander, campaigned for Indigenous land rights which led to a landmark decision of the High Court of Australia. The Mabo decision was a turning point for the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' rights as it acknowledged their longstanding and unique connection with the land for the last 65,000 to 80,000 years.

08.01.2022 Work from home tip - Don't just sit there! One way you can remind yourself to get up to either stretch or walk around the room, is by setting a timer for every hour. It isn’t healthy to sit down all day, not even in an office environment, while you're working from home you may have even less reason to get up and move about for a couple of minutes. Going for a short walk on your lunch break, would be a great way to get some movement in during the day!

07.01.2022 Today we recognise and celebrate an important part of Torres Strait Islander history, The Coming of the Light, the end of inter-island conflict. Today, Torres Strait Islanders of all denominations wherever they live, in the islands or on the mainland, come together to honour this anniversary.
