07.01.2022 The long awaited RC report was released yesterday and seems the Big Banks have come out on top while Mortgage Brokers have bore the brunt of the whole financial sectors wrong doing. Its been frustrating to read over the past few months articles and opinion pieces which do not show a balanced view of the mortgage broking industry. Peter Switzer is the first to show how it will adversely affect the average Australian in a way we can all understand. 59.6% of you choose to use ...a mortgage broker as you can see our value. We increase competition so you can always have a 'Fairer Deal' which keeps the banks honest. While there are always 'bad eggs' in any industry, majority of mortgage brokers work long hours, under quite stressful conditions trying to find you a better deal, or get you into your first home or help you grow your own business, because we love what we do - helping people. I do hope that the government can see that letting mortgage brokers take the fall will reduce competition, rates will therefore go up and the big banks profits will sore while the average Australian will pay more on their mortgages, if they can find a lender at all. After 17 years in the industry, every one of my customers genuinely holds a special place in my heart and I get no better satisfaction then seeing young families buy their first home, or people finding their forever home, investors building their portfolios or small businesses getting a leg up to all ultimately realise their dreams. Regardless, I will continue to do what I love, helping you get a fairer deal with your bank, getting you into your first home and negotiating with the banks on your behalf.
