11.01.2022 I am so proud to be a judge for the inaugural Tiler of the Year Awards. In an industry first, National Tiles and Grand Designs Australia, in partnership with Ma...zda, is acknowledging the work of the incredible tilers who work on beautiful projects all around Australia. And the grand prize is a Mazda BT-50 Boss valued at over $56,000! Like National Tiles, at KWD we are passionate about tiles and we love working with skilled artisans who take such pride in their work to create a beautifully finished tiled floor, wall, splashback, shower and outdoor paving area. Tiled correctly, these spaces will stand the test of time. We know it’s a tough job - painstaking, back-breaking and physically demanding. So National Tiles created these special Tiler of the Year Awards to send out a collective heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing tilers who work so hard. HOW IT WORKS If you are a tiler, simply upload a photo of your work. If you’re a homeowner, renovator, interior designer, design professional, builder or architect and would like to nominate your tiler, upload an image of a beautifully tiled space in your own home or a project of yours. Entry applications close on March 5th - so get in quick, you don't want to miss out! I will be judging the entries along with Grand Designs Australia magazine's Editor, Angela Young and National Tiles General Manager of Product and Procurement, Camron Whittaker. The top 10 finalists will be announced on March 12th and photographs of their work will be uploaded to a Voting page (the link will be on the National Tiles website) where everyone can vote for their favourite space. The finalists will be invited to attend a very special event in Melbourne where the winner and runners-up will be announced. The winner will be featured in the July issue of Grand Designs Australia (entry applicants will need to be available for a photo shoot for this feature). 08.01.2022 I’m so proud to be named as a judge on Australia’s Best House, a new TV Series, hosted by style icon Megan Gale, that celebrates Australian design and construct...ion, and the way we live here in Australia. One house will be awarded the title, Australia’s Best House. I’ll be alongside Architect Luke Fry of Luke Fry Architecture and Builder Andrew Purdie of Montique Construction. We will critique entries for all aspects of design, from clever space planning, beautiful use of materiality, construction quality and overall design. 'My Aussie Build', is a 30 minute television show which takes audiences on the journey of the build. From its design inception to the reveal at the climax of each episode. Each week a unique Aussie Build will be revealed. We see the transformation of a 70's brick veneer from drab and brown to bright beachy, the renovation of an old miners cottage and the construction of an architectural marvel. All the homes are real and the stories are honest.
