25.01.2022 Respirator fit testing 3 at a time. #gettingitdone #respfit #portacount

25.01.2022 NEW INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT Follow us now at #Onsitesafetyaustralia & get to know the team

25.01.2022 On site today for a respiratory roll out program and getting asked LOTS of question about how to protect against the pollutants of bushfire smoke.. seeing as we are unable to see our beautiful southern skies today. I cant stress enough how IMPERATIVE it is that your mask is PROPERLY FIT. A particulate filtering mask is all you need (think P2 disposable, half face reusable or full face with particulate filters) but how it fits you is paramount to how effective it is. If you need assistance please get in touch today. Stay safe out there

24.01.2022 Usually donned in hivis and steel caps for the industrial sector, the last two weeks has been a change of scenery..! We swapped out site attire for medical gowns & gloves and set about as delved into the world of healthcare. It has been quite the task and there has been some LONG days (and nights) involved. In the last seven days we have performed the best part of 550 tests for 270 Anaesthetists, Nurses, Ambos, ICU, Obstetrics & Emergency Dept staff across 3 different hospit...als in Sydney. We understand that fit testing in this climate can be quite the contentious issue. With the strained supply of proper N95/P2 masks, we gave the option of two methods to test with. Our clients respect the science behind Quantitative Fit Testing and its completely objective process - therefore we moved forward with Portacount Fit testing. It has also been incredibly satisfying to provide reassurance to these frontline staff by finding the right mask for each face present and making sure it fits appropriately. More so than ever, it is incredibly prevalent for these workers to have confidence in their provided PPE when performing certain high risk procedures during these times. We thank all the healthcare workers, front line occupations and essential staff. We wish all our valued clients a Happy Easter and Safe long weekend!

23.01.2022 Mr Andrews, Fit Testing isn’t about testing the efficacy of the mask (which should already be done before it arrives to a hospital)... it’s about finding out if the mask fits the face of the wearer ! We demand mandatory fit testing for all health care workers. They deserve it !

22.01.2022 You run into the best people at those really cool inner city places that you know you shouldnt go to but you just have to. It was an exceptionally good day.

21.01.2022 Something very prevalent to our industry and clients within.

20.01.2022 The man in this article, Mr White; sadly died this week, less than 3 weeks after it was published. The QLD stone industry has undergone a major audit, revealing 98 cases of silicosis, 15 of them terminal and the youngest being 23 years old. Let that sink in for a moment. 23 years old with an aggressive & incurable lung disease that was almost certainly preventable. ... I want to point out that this is not isolated to just stonemasons. Anyone typically working in construction, engineering, mining, tunnelling, farming and such, are at risk of inhaling dust containing respirable crystalline silica. My grandad was a bricklayer for his entire life. The common task of emptying and mixing up bags of concrete & cutting into brick was enough exposure for him to develop silicosis. So please talk to your friends, your colleagues, your husbands or wives who work with any sandstone, bricks, tiles, quartz, concrete and/or granite and ask them what preventative measures are they using at work to come home healthy each and every day. Please protect yourselves from workplace hazards, and if youre unsure; engage a safety professional / occupational hygienist to assist you. Safety regulations & PPE requirements arent there to hinder your work, make you out to be weak or put a target on back for work cover. Its there to SAVE YOUR LIFE. Lastly, if you are using respiratory protection - please get fit tested! There is no point in wearing a mask if it doesnt properly fit you (and therefore protect you). Fit testing is something I hope becomes a national mandatory requirement one day. Its never to late to do better in relation to workplace safety.

19.01.2022 RUOK DAY ! Every two days in Australia, a construction worker kills himself. Suicide among construction workers who are almost exclusively men aged 15 to 24 is more than twice as high as other young males, according to the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention. Break the stigma, ask your mates and coworkers RUOK?! Talking about it is sometimes half the battle. ... 06.01.2022 We were pleased to be apart of the RPE Quantitative Fit Testing program that was rolled out in Victoria for members of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists a few weeks ago. Where fit checking has seen its flaws in proper donning techniques, we are incredibly proud that our fit testing program has offered front line healthcare workers the education and reassurance they deserve. We thank each and every one of who who serve our community.

06.01.2022 Safety gloves have never been that exciting. They try hard to redesign and re-engineer but have sadly missed the mark. Always favouring comfort over cut protection or the reverse, good protection poor quality fit. We have not seen anything as groundbreaking as these GRAPHEX GLOVES until now.... They are setting a new benchmark for cut resistance and comfort like never seen before. Onsite is actually excited to now be stocking the entire range of Force 360 performance products. Professional workers who use and need gloves will appreciate something innovative, that will increase work performance, safety and productivity. Ask us anything about these gloves now. But make sure you do. Please share this with anyone who may need. #professionworker #bestcutprotection #handpritection #gloves #cut5gloves #force360 #forceperfornancerange #Bestgloves #workersgloves

01.01.2022 Training and education is the best way to make sure you are protected against bush fire smoke. Remember we are all at risk! Stay indoors and do not expose yourself unnecessarily to poor air quality!... If you need to wear a respirator, remember a minimum of P2 respiratory protection should be used. And if you are unsure about what to do please get in contact with us, we are more than happy to help. Breathe easy. #onsitesafetyaustralia #respirators
