25.01.2022 To continue keeping WA safe and strong, a contact register will be required at particular businesses and venues from 5 December. Contact registers will allow f...or targeted contact tracing, to help limit transmission of COVID-19, should it be required. The contact register will record your: Name Contact number Location Date and arrival time at the venue. This information will not be used for any other purpose and will be kept securely for 28 days. A WA Government app, SafeWA, is available to provide patrons and businesses with a free, convenient digital option for contact registration. By downloading the SafeWA app, you will be able to scan a QR code to register your details at any venue you attend which is using the app. Some businesses may choose to use a different electronic or paper-based system and all businesses must register visitors who choose not to use the app. These measures will help to protect you and your fellow Western Australians. 24.01.2022 RCCIWA is working with Tourism Western Australia to best support businesses in the Tourism Sector who are really struggling to find employees for a wide range o...f positions. We know this is a critical issue in regional WA. We are keen to know if your business would access the Seasonal Worker Program or the Pacific Labour Scheme to try and fill your employee needs so that you can operate your business at capacity. Or alternatively if there is another solution for your business, please let us know. We have developed this survey to help inform decisions. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RCCIWATourismSectorShortages Could you please share this survey with your members, your networks and any tourism bodies in your networks. It closes next Wednesday the 16th. We have learnt from all of the surveys we have done this year, that having a short one week opening time seems to get the best responses. #regionalvoice #labourshortages

19.01.2022 - The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions w...ill be in town to discuss their Pilbara Inshore Islands Proposal that has recently been out for public comment. The plan covers over 170 islands, islets and rocks between Exmouth Gulf and Cape Preston, many of which fall within existing nature reserves, and all of which are proposed to become part of a single large nature reserve. Broadly speaking the proposed nature reserve will prevent access to islands except for a couple regulated locations (Long and Sholl islands) and existing commercial arrangements. The DBCA would like to gather information from the community about how and when we utilize the islands. This is your chance have a direct say to the department about the proposal. !! See more
