25.01.2022 On The Move Physiotherapy and Pilates is right behind Cancer Rehab Awareness Week and will be involved in promoting Cancer Rehab and fundraising to ensure our local community can benefit from further charity funded Next Steps 10 week exercise programs in the future. Today was week 2 of our fully funded classes and our participants gave their all! Its vital that everyone who has experienced cancer gets support with rehabilitation and I am so fortunate to be able to offer this with the financial support from PINC and STEEL Foundation

25.01.2022 "No one tells you about the after effects of cancer, only about getting rid of the cancer. I found it really hard both during and after my treatment to accept... how much my body had changed and to get use to the new me. Doing weekly cancer rehab throughout motivated me to keep going and to get stronger. I think if I hadnt been able to participate in Pinc & Steel cancer rehab with Jonty I would have been less active, and much less motivated. Everyone with a cancer diagnosis should be able to get help, even if its a little bit each week it really helps both the body and the mind to recover!" Josh Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia patient Joshua Roach supported by his Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapist Jonty Garlick at Physio & Pilates Ltd, #Taupo, NZ. #CRAW2020 supported by Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand

24.01.2022 What a heart warming story about this talented young student in WA who is non- verbal with a lot to say! You might need a box of tissues...

24.01.2022 I love this initiative from Disability Sports Australia! Theres online programs for all abilities which is fantastic news for people who are self isolating and wanting to stay active.

23.01.2022 Mindful movement and mindfulness meditation are techniques I teach in my group exercise classes and I find that these methods are extremely beneficial for clients experiencing chronic pain. If youre interested in learning more please be in touch for a consultation.

23.01.2022 Some wise words here about pelvic floor health for women!

23.01.2022 Prioritising physical and mental health is so important

23.01.2022 **Mens Health Week** "We need to recognise that our men arent always as good at coming forward for help as some women are, but their needs are definitely as ...great. STEEL Cancer Rehab Physiotherapist, Andy Schmidt. Steel Cancer Rehab clinicians offer specific support to meet the unique needs of men seeking rehabilitation after a cancer diagnosis, and are available in 16 countries worldwide and via virtual consultations. 22.01.2022 Some wise words from our PINC and STEEL founder! No-one with cancer should miss out on rehab

22.01.2022 Not only Cancer Rehab Awareness Week 2020 but World Physiotherapy Day today too . This day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy commun...ity. It is an opportunity to recognise the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community. Our #CRAW campaign supports this mission. Hear insights from PINC&STEEL physios here https://vimeo.com/271210171 Rehabilitation has never been a part of the traditional patient pathway for oncology patients. The primary focus of oncology medical professionals is to eliminate or control disease by suppressing cancer cell growth or directly removing the tumour. These treatments are increasingly successful, but they also damage normal tissue. While oncology specialists seek the best possible outcomes, i.e. the absence of any residual cancer this does not mean that meaningful emotional and functional recovery is complete. Many of our healthcare systems do not have the means to effectively assess post treatment functional impairment and there is a real lack of awareness about oncology rehabilitation services. This is why we must share the message about the vital role cancer rehab physiotherapists have in re-enabling those with a cancer diagnosis to live well and live fully and continue to achieve their goals. Our PINC&STEEL Certified physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to offer evidence based oncology rehabilitation and support those with a cancer diagnosis with essential aspects of their recovery and wellness that arent offered elsewhere. #CRAW2020 #WorldPTDay #globalPT #cancerrehab

22.01.2022 Sharing this post I saw this morning on Trust Me, I’m a Physiotherapist page...what an incredible woman!

22.01.2022 "While life is put on hold, cancer rehab needs are not, and recovery can continue. We are here to help." Denise, Pinc&Steel Physiotherapist. In New Zealand ma...ny Pinc&Steel cancer rehab physios are enjoying seeing many of their patients face to face again as we become less restricted in terms of COVID-19. We acknowledge however that elsewhere in the world, physios and occupational physiotherapists are still supporting men and women to reach their cancer rehabilitation goals via virtual means due to COVID-19 restrictions. These cancer rehab clinicians are supporting patients with not only their physical health in lockdown but their mental health too. We know that due to these specialised telehealth services patients with a cancer diagnosis, despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, continue to achieve their goals! #cancerrehab #globalpt

16.01.2022 Approximately 20 percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer will develop lymphoedema. The figures may be similar for other cancers including melanoma, gynaecological or prostate cancers. Great news for people in South Australia with lymphoedema - new funding is now available.

16.01.2022 Wise words from our PINC and STEEL founder, Lou James

15.01.2022 Patients and their family members remain in the dark about the availability of specialised cancer rehabilitation services in the community. Its easy ...to underestimate the long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment. The primary focus of oncology medical professionals is to eliminate or control disease by suppressing cancer cell growth or directly removing the tumour. These treatments are increasingly successful. However, the absence of any residual cancer does not mean that meaningful emotional and functional recovery is complete. Cancer rehab physiotherapists and occupational therapists have the skills to effectively assess post treatment impairment. They can help to optimise the recovery and living well for those with a cancer diagnosis. NO ONE SHOULD MISS OUT Find your local PINC&STEEL Cancer Rehab professional today at www.pincandsteel.com. 14.01.2022 For our older adults COVID isolation means less physical activity and an increased risk of life-threatening falls. 12.01.2022 This sounds really interesting! I have long advocated for and promoted the role of exercise for physical AND mental health. Exercise is a wonderful way to support mind and body health. Well done UniSA!

12.01.2022 Recovering from COVID-19 with support of amazing physios!

11.01.2022 Great Pelvic Floor information here for World Continence Week.

10.01.2022 **Mens Health Week** Our Certified STEEL Program occupational therapists support men to set and achieve the goals that will enable them to get back to the work... they love after a cancer diagnosis. For many men, not being unable to work during and after their cancer treatment, and fulfill their previous role as providers for their family has a major negative effect on their mental health. Seeking support from a STEEL cancer rehabilitation physio or occupational therapist is a significant step towards improved wellness, both physically and mentally. www.pincandsteel.com #cancerrehab #livingwithandbeyondcancer

09.01.2022 **This has to change** The number of people living longer and surviving cancer is growing, however so is the number of people living with long-term side eff...ects of the disease and treatment (both physical and emotional), which make them feel they havent beaten cancer at all. The current low profile of long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment means affected people are reluctant to report their ongoing issues, particularly when they feel so grateful to be free of cancer. Revealing the scale of this problem we hope allows people experiencing these issues to understand that they are not alone, and to seek the support they need. There are 44 million cancer survivors worldwide. There are 18.1 million new diagnoses each year. The research shows that 70% of those diagnosed are struggling with physical side eects between 1-10 years after treatment. **This has to change** Cancer rehab can help with that. Ref: Macmillan Cancer Support (2009) Its no life: living with the long-term eects of cancer.

09.01.2022 Working with people to enable their best health, wellbeing, physical capacity and achieve their goals are the reasons I am a physiotherapist. 09.01.2022 What a wonderful story

08.01.2022 Neck pain and neck-related headaches are becoming more and more common problems that I treat due to the postural stresses of looking down at phones, tablets and laptops. Physiotherapy can help immensely with these issues.

08.01.2022 We know you are already here to support the campaign to raise awareness about cance rehab and we really appreciate that. But, if you were wondering why we need ...this campaign at all.... check out the link below. Thanks for being here! 2 days to go.... Why do we need Cancer Rehab Awareness Week 2020? Current oncology practice is, failing those with cancer with regard to prescribing exercise rehab, says a Call-to-Action Report from a global coalition of forty leaders from seventeen organisations, spearheaded by the American College of Sports Medicine. 07.01.2022 **Mens Health Week** It has been found that men are more likely to experience both depression and anxiety after a cancer diagnosis than women. Our STEEL Cance...r Rehabilitation clinicians often find that there are improvements in their patients overall feeling of mental wellness after they have attending STEEL cancer rehab sessions through the feedback they receive. "The STEEL Program has helped greatly in managing my mental wellbeing. During and after each session of physical rehabilitation I also felt more able to deal with my emotions relating to my cancer diagnosis, and my overall feeling of mental wellness improved". 02.01.2022 My physio had a massive impact on my recovery and helping me to get back to everyday activities.
