25.01.2022 The number 1 most UNDERRATED aspect of the fitness industry: COMMUNITY!!! I'm sure you have heard of the joke:... 'How do you know when someone does crossfit?... Don't worry, they'll tell you!' Crossfitters are very proud of their hobby, as are those that frequent the 45-min group training, HIIT-style gyms that have popped up on every corner! Why are these people so passionate about what they do to keep fit? Because these companies know how to create COMMUNITY! Once someone feels like they are apart of a community who accepts and understands them, their motivation increases. They are much more likely to get out of bed if they feel like they might be letting their peers down and with all the encouragement and support, it’s definitely a lot more fun. If you are not offering your clients a product where they can feel that community, are you really doing everything you can to grow your business? Are you really giving your clients what they need to hang around long-term?

23.01.2022 2 Ways To Respond to Someone Asking for a Discount! Sometimes it's hard, especially for new PTs to see their worth, so they fall into a trap of discounting or undervaluing their services. Rest assured - you spent a lot of time and effort learning the skills required to become a trainer and you are WORTH the money you are charging.... Often times, it is simply a case of not showing your value in your first consultation. Getting a new client isn't as simple as someone just saying 'YES' to your services. You need to get to that 'yes' in a way that really proves you are worth every penny. Start by asking lots of open-ended questions about their needs and goals and then tailor your solutions to relate back to those needs. This will help them see your full price value. However, you will no doubt still get the DISCOUNT question from time to time, so here are a couple of ways to handle it: 1) I can offer a discount if we (Insert Change to program.) A great option if someone truly needs a discount is to offer a smaller version of your program that can help them meet their needs. There are a lot of adjustments you can make that preserve the value of your time and expertise while still giving a lower price. For instance, offer twice a week training instead of three times. Another option is to provide a payment plan, or perhaps a lower price for a longer contract. You can offer 12 months for less than twice the 6-month program, for instance. 2) Good question. Do you see price being an obstacle to your fitness? This reply does two things. First, it brings up that the price is not for workouts, a gym, or a program. The amount they’re paying is for their fitness and health. When you emphasize this, the client isn’t thinking, Is this program worth it, but instead, Is my health and fitness worth it? Secondly, it gives the client a chance to tell you what their real needs and budget are. Perhaps they honestly cannot afford your primary offering. In that case, it’s important to offer them other options so that they can continue to pursue their goals even if it’s not with you. For more ways to respond to this question, pop an emoji in the comments and we will send you some other ideas

18.01.2022 Our goal is to guarantee that our customers spend more money with us, right? In other words, how can we force our customers to spend more before getting a discount? We are big fans of Spend & Save campaigns. ... What this means is that our customers don’t get a discount unless they spend a certain amount of money with us in the first place. By forcing your customers to "spend" in order to access a discount, you guarantee the growth in sales are profitable. What we are doing is essentially setting a discount hurdle. We’re making our customers work for their discount - not just giving everything away and leaving things to chance.

18.01.2022 With so many fitness gurus on social media these days, how can you decide whose advice to listen to? You want to work with a business who aligns with your values and just clicks with what you are about. You want someone who is determined to actually educate you so you become self sufficient, not interested in keeping you paying for their services forever.... You want an educator with a proven track history. From there you want a consultant who will deliver you value from day dot, not meaningless informaiton that doesn't translate to results. All of this may mean you actually work with a couple of companies/coaches with strengths in different areas and thats OKAY! It's how you are driving your business and gaining multiple perspectives/ideas is a strength to helping you build your knowledge.

14.01.2022 Follow the 90/10 Rule The 90/10 rule states that you should spend 90 percent of your time on marketing efforts that you know are effective and appeal to your target audience. You can spend the remaining 10 percent experimenting and trying new things.

13.01.2022 What is your self care routine? Fitness professionals frequently burn out as they are busy looking after their clients health and wellness instead of their own. To be on your A game you need to be making time for self care during the week. ... The primary issue we see with fatigued personal trainers as they are frantic and overwhelmed which means their primary business tasks are done occasionally or not at all. Business and professional development go hand in hand as a personal trainer. At the end of the day it is about taking care of yourself and taking your business to the next level. Some non negotiable tasks we have set in our own lives include: - train daily - minimum 7 hours sleep - meditate for 5-10 minutes daily - read a book a month - listen to 1 podcast a week What is your self care habits ?

12.01.2022 It takes more than just WANTING to feel or look differently. It takes discipline. It takes consistency.... 10.01.2022 Think as a trainer you don't need to worry about Customer Service? Think again! Customer service is the term given to the one-on-one interaction between a customer, consumer, or client who has provided a company money in exchange for a good or service and the company selling it. ... In the training industry, the element of your business activities where you interact directly with the customers and clients is your business’s customer service. Customer service has the potential to have a significant impact on your clients’ perception of your company and the services and products you offer. Even if you have a groundbreaking fitness program or weight-loss program, if most of your coaching clients have negative customer service experiences, they will most likely have a negative view of your fitness and coaching brand. Positive customer service experiences, however, are critical to your business success. When your clients and customers feel like their needs are met, their questions are answered, and, ultimately, if they feel like you care about them, they will have a favorable view of your fitness and coaching brand. When you are successful at providing excellent customer service to your coaching clients or patients, you are ensuring brand loyalty, client satisfaction, and client longevity. As your business begins to grow, those elements are essential since, at the end of the day, they will help secure a steady income for your business. SO WHAT DOES CUSTOMER SERVICE LOOK LIKE IN THE TRAINING INDUSTRY? Answering emails from clients Talking to clients about their concerns and answering questions one-on-one Texting with clients (often a nonstop job) Responding to comments and questions on your social media posts and social media direct messages. Note: Sometimes, people you reply to aren’t customers yet. Still, if you respond similarly to clients and non-clients on your social media accounts, it is one example of how sales and customer service can meld together. Answering client phone calls and voice mail Scheduling regular client meetings (in-person and on the phone)

07.01.2022 Nutrition - often the missing link between your client achieving their results or looking for a different trainer. Are you confident in your knowledge to help them in this area? 07.01.2022 In order for you to stand out from the crowd on social media you need to provide your audience with a reason to follow you. Our number 1 rule with posting on social media is to provide the audience with value - give them a reason to follow you! Two value driven marketing campaigns we recommend you start implementing today to drive enquiries are: Free 30 day challenge - all the prospect needs to provide is their first name, last name, email and mobile. Use social media to prov...ide snippets of the challenge and prewrite the at home workouts, wellness advice, etc. A weekly video of you providing tips and hints on a topic that engages with your target audience. This can be videos of frequently asked questions, a bit about you, types of training you provide. Make the audience feel like they know you before they make contact. Above all else, don't fall in to the trap of constantly posting quotes. Find content that show cases your business and gives your audience a reason to continue to follow you.

06.01.2022 6 non-negotiables for a happy, healthy life 1. Exercise daily We move far less these days due to more sedentary jobs and smarter technology.... Many of us sit on our backsides most days and it is really affecting our health both mentally AND physically! Keeping up with daily workouts is so important and contrary to what many believe, you don’t need to torture yourself for an hour and a half at the gym for it to count! Aim for 30 mins of your favourite exercise a day at a medium intensity. Also try to fit in as much incidental exercise as possible. This includes choosing to walk/cycle whenever possible. 2. Self-Care You have heard it before, but remember you can’t give from an empty cup! You need to make sure you spend regular time SOLO doing something you really enjoy. Relaxing bath, massage, reading, doing something creative whatever tickles your fancy. It’s important to note that self-care also means making decisions for YOU on a regular basis. That includes saying ‘no’ to that extra social function when you are already under the pump, setting boundaries between your work and home life and choosing to get more sleep even when it means interrupting your binge-watching! 3. Drink lots of good quality water Hydrate your body with lots of healthy, pure, filtered water every day. It is good for almost everything including incredible skin!. 4. Get your Vitamin D Enjoy 10 minutes of sun on as much exposed skin as you can manage. Not only will this give you a good break from whatever your doing and help clear your mind, the vitamin D will be extremely beneficial to your health. 5. Boost your nutrition These days, it is much harder getting everything your body needs from diet alone. Our soil is over farmed and there are simply not the same amount of nutrients in our food anymore. Use high-quality supplements to boost your nutrition so you can focus on PREVENTING disease now rather than TREATING it in the future.. Fish oils, anti-oxidants, collagen bone-broths and pro biotics are among our favourite supplements 6. Spend time with loved ones If recent events have taught us anything it is that when we are forced to slow down, we are reminded of how amazing it can be to spend time with our nearest and dearest. Being present with your partner and kids, your parents or even your besties is good for the soul. Never forget what is important in life.

04.01.2022 How strong is your business vocabulary? Most fitness professionals and business owners start out with a vague awareness that there’s a lot more to building a business than they initially thought. But without names for what needs to be done (and an understanding of the environment they’re now operating in), they end up feeling lost, confused, and overwhelmed.... Names give you power. They increase your comprehension and allow you to accelerate breakthroughs in cloudy thinking so you can focus on specific, necessary actions required to achieve your goals.

03.01.2022 Remember - its your task today to set an achievable weekly goal with your clients to set them up for success

02.01.2022 The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. Steve Jobs

01.01.2022 So many people who embark on their own health and wellness journey feel excited, energized, and motivated when they start seeing results. Often people who have had their own successful weight loss or fitness experience decide they want to help others do the same. At the risk of sounding cliché, there really is nothing better than helping others and spending your time doing what you’re passionate about. But running your own business is about more than being a qualified Person...al Trainer. Of course, that's an extremely important part of it...but you also need to know step by step the basics about setting up your business. More than that, you need to figure out a business plan that not only speaks to you and your personal goals, but also builds you a business that will eventually allow you to make money even WHEN: - clients are sick - YOU are sick - clients sleep in - clients just randomly don't rock up - there is a pandemic that shuts down your workplace overnight - the gym you are working in goes out of business I have witnessed every one of these examples AND MORE. So while you need to be passionate about this industry to start, you need to learn some simple yet effective, business savvy tools to make it long-term. If you're not sure where to start...comment here....

01.01.2022 Want to help MORE people and be confident that your initial consultations will have a HIGH percentage of people signing up?? Then get ready to get REAL AND RAW! Of course in our initial consultations we want a certain amount of 'getting to know you' type questions -... What do you do? What are your goals? etc... However, if you want the best chance of not only locking in a client but also REALLY helping them - you need to find out their pain points as quickly as possible. This is so your prospective client understands exactly how much this means to them and can decide if they are truly committed. If they are ready to make some changes or if they want to continue getting up every day HOPING for changes without actually DOING anything. Many people fall short in this area because it's uncomfortable. It's uncomfortable asking personal questions to someone you don't know and it's uncomfortable watching them get emotional about their responses. But if you DO manage to get them to FEEL and TALK ABOUT their pain point - you can almost guarantee a new client. So after asking them about their goals, ask them also: "How long have you felt this way?" "Have you tried anything before now?" "How do you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror?" "Does this stop you from doing/wearing what you want?" "Tell me about that" Go deep and you will know once you have hit the point that really makes them want to change. DON'T FORGET TO LISTEN. Once you ask a question - sit in the awkward silence until they answer you - don't try to make it less awkward. Once they open up to you, they are much more likely to trust and hire you and YOU have much more information to help them reach their goals. WIN WIN!
