24.01.2022 Feathers, working on the flamingos reclaimed wooden feathers. Not right just yet. I want fluidity with the feathers as though freely suspended on the wire frame which in time will be attached to the flamingos legs, neck and head.

19.01.2022 Mixing it up a bit. Ive been wanting to do this for quite some time and today was the day. My love for birds continues. Hand carved Pelican from reclaimed wood. Ponderous Pelican will be mounted on a gumtree branch pylon in either a natural or hand painted design. (price TBA).

All it needed was a sanding and two good coats of paint complete with a variety of hand painted fonts. ... As the panelling is not fully painted I use Bees Wax to enhance the golden timber grain out. It also helps protect the timber.

13.01.2022 My Flamingo interpretation started with an idea of a rough raw pencil drawing, a friendly gentle daughters finger painting, handcarved reclaimed abstract timber feathers. A flamingo in the early stages. A long way to go!

13.01.2022 So finally all four palm trees are standing tall. Made from reclaimed cardboard packing boards and timber off cuts. Props for our daughters primary school graduation a few weeks off. Cant wait to paint. Thats where it gets more interesting, all in the detail. Requires some trimming at base but just wanted to get a feel for it.
