25.01.2022 Update on 2020 Oodnadatta Races & Gymkhana. We have been receiving alot of enquires regarding our event in May. As our event doesnt attract more then 500 people and its an event in a wide open space, we are still planning to go ahead with our event. ... We will continue to monitor future information on the virus and will keep you updated if anything changes. Looking forward to seeing you in Oodnadatta in May 9th 2020.

18.01.2022 It is with regret and a lot of disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Oodnadatta races & Gymkhana. Our committee has put a lot of hours into planning the celebration of the 130th year, trying to make it one of the biggest race weekends yet. But we can ensure you we will be back next year with an even bigger event planned to celebrate the 130th + 1 year. ... We have tried our hardest to be positive that we would be able to still have our event in September but with COVID19 restrictions we arent able to go ahead. We thank everyone who has their race horses back in work and always supporting our event, without all of our supporters and competitors our event wouldnt have been celebrating 130 years. We are still proud to say we hold Australias longest running picnic race meeting. Refunding of all ball tickets sales will happen over the next couple days and we will be contacting our amazing sponsors. We are pleased to also announce CATHERINE BRITT has confirmed she will be attending the 2021 event and is as excited as we are. See you all on May 7th & 8th 2021

17.01.2022 The William Creek Bronco Branding event will be held on the 14th and 15th of August. The committee's plan is to run a kids gymkhana/motokhana Friday afternoon w...ith a adult motokhana Friday night under lights. We aim to have a adult gymkhana Saturday morning followed by our normal bronco branding events Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately this year we are unable to run a small Camp draft. We are still in the process of working through COVID 19 plans, but we are confident we can navigate any restrictions. We are very keen for a great weekend. We will continue to post further updates on information regarding the weekend. cheers

11.01.2022 OODNADATTA BRONCO BRANDING AND CAMPDRAFT 2020 The Oodnadatta Bronco Branding Committee has been biding its time, optimistically hopeful that we may have been able to hold our annual Bronco Branding and Campdraft on July 11th, 2020. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation of Covid 19 and the uncertainty at this moment has given us no choice but to cancel the Oodnadatta Bronco Branding for 2020. The safety of our communities must come first.... We would like to thank our sponsors and supporters for your enduring support over the last 36 years, and we look forward to seeing you all again in Oodnadatta in July 2021. Stay safe.

10.01.2022 Hello all, We hope youre doing well. The committee regret to inform you all that the decision has been made to further postpone this years Bronco Branding & ...Team Penning (6th & 7th of November). This is not a decision that has been made lightly and after much consideration it was determined the best course of action for our club. Due to the ever changing COVID-19 regulations and requirements the committee believes that we will not be able to run the high quality event that we strive for. We understand the frustration felt by many of you and appreciate your understanding at this time. We are already busy planning a bigger and better event for 2021! Thank you SAA Committee 2020

07.01.2022 It is with regret we have decided to postpone our 130th Races & Gymkhana. Our new date is 11 & 12 September 2020. We plan to go with our original program but will keep you updated with any changes as time goes on. Ball tickets - we will adjust the dates on these in the coming days or you can request a refund via sticky tickets.... Bronco Branding - we plan to run with original date (11th July 2020) and program at this stage but will continue to monitor this as well. We will update again on our events as new news becomes available. Keep watching this space.

This week we have taken delivery of our new ablution block thanks to funding through the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Programme (Round 1). The new ablution block puts us in good stead for hosting larger groups travelling through should the opportunity arise as well as providing ample facilities for our annual events. ... Thank you to the Outback Communities Authority for making it possible and ensuring remote South Australia continue to be looked after.
05.01.2022 26/3/34 - 8/10/20 ~ Mr Ben Greenwood ~ Life member of the Oodnadatta Racing & Horse Sports club and our patron for many years of the Races & Gymkhana. ... Ben returned every year to Oodnadatta for the races with brother Winston right up until a couple years ago. Ben would help us set up for the weekend events and was our chief pest control officer with the ant plagues! Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Belinda, Bill and families at this sad time. RIP Benny.

The committee are in the process of trying to organise an event -gymkhana/ bronco branding-... to be held on Friday, August 14th and Saturday August 15th 2020 . We will keep everyone informed as to what format and what times it will be when we have more direction.
