23.01.2022 Posted this a year ago today and it still is as valid as it was then...if not more. How deep are we going, how critically are we thinking and analysing (not judging) all that is happening around us? Who are we supporting and where will our support lead us in the future?... All the good we desire is possible. It all lies in our choices. It may seem like we are being fed but really we are the ones feeding. Changing the world is EASY #Repost @oooobysyd Its ok, it really is. . . The tree is still standing and it will continue standing aside many new trees we plant along the way. All we need to do is to make the right choices in our everyday lifes. A real difference is made by you, your habits and your actions. Today, ever then before it is important that you use your wallets to create the change you desire. Be mindful when you spend your money and think where it goes. If you want to create change and be strong enough to fight the good fight you need to spend it with the established fighters. Look at the ethics of the businesses you currently spend your most money with. If there is even the slightest distrust, maybe due to missing honesty or transparency it may not be where your monies should go. You dont like the system? Dont try and build a system within a system, use the very same system against them. Corporations may have taken over our governments but are those corporations really in control of you, or are you in control of them? We only need to align 25 percent of the population with our thinking, but really walk the walk and lead by example to push all the good we do into the mainstream.

While mainly I have been too busy concentrating on the wellbeing of our crew, our internal operations and the continued high level of service we want to be providing to you, our growers and suppliers, I have also been silently watching the things that are happening around us. I think it is interesting and fascinating to hear and see the different level of thoug...hts, behaviours and theories that arose with this pandemic all around the world. No matter if you agree with them or not. It always was, however, it has become even clearer to me as to how important radical honesty and transparency actually is - in all parts of life. Though before I get into that deeper on another occasion, I actually just felt like sharing the below email I sent to one of the many businesses that have been reaching out to help us with marketing Now, in no way is my aim to portrait these businesses as bad or evil beings that are out to harm us. What is bad, what is good, what is fair, what is right, what is wrong? Is it the same for me as it is for you? I am asking myself these questions, a lot more than I used to before this pandemic. Are you? Every single being is a product of their environment and these peeps just work within the environment they have always known. One in ten employees in Australia holds a temporary visa. They pay taxes just like citizens and permanent residents and make many more rich contributions to our lives. In our business students, working holiday and graduate visa holders make up a huge part of our workforce, filing essential jobs that locals simply dont apply for. This decision will uproot the new life theyve worked so hard for and will strangle our team and many others in the hospitality and manufacturing industries. International students are essential and they deserve more. Well be advocating for a better deal and working to ensure we can keep our students employed so they can continue to live and study in Australia. @joonisthere started with us as a kitchen hand in 2014. After studying to be become a qualified chef (one of the many skilled trade shortages in Australia) hes now on his graduate visa and working towards permanent residency. Hes one of the million strong migrant workforce that wont receive any assistance from the government. So long as we can keep baking and serving customers, we will continue to employ Joon - and the other international students who bake, pack, cook, drive, clean and serve in our business.
