24.01.2022 Results are in. I am hoping to inspire and motivate my students to always give it their absolute best even when circumstances change. So I received all high distinctions (which obviously made mum and dad beam with pride). So to those of you in year 12, do not give up hope especially if you have me as your tutor . My secret, consistency and effort - my goals are never set low, set them high and reap the rewards. Looking forward to catching up with you all next term! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

24.01.2022 All the best to our class of 2020 who are sitting the very first Qld ATAR exams for the next 3 weeks. You got this!

23.01.2022 Hi guys. The new term brings with it some new challenges. But this is what we young people do best...we have to rise to these challenges and own it. Help your parents to cope as they are probably dealing with far more stresses than how to learn online. Show them that you are resilient and independent ... You got this! And don’t forget, your teachers and tutors are all available - talk to them, ask questions and let’s face this together. Ps I just wrote my mid semester exams online too...the world is changing, so change your thinking and expand your skill set.

22.01.2022 Hi guys. Almost to mid term. How are you travelling amongst all the pandemic stresses and usual school stresses? Just remember sometimes, you just need to take a breath and take it a step at a time. You got this!

22.01.2022 To all the Year 12’s sitting QCS today and tomorrow, GOOD LUCK! Remember, this is your general knowledge skills test, a little like NAPLAN, so do your best, think logically and remember to plan before you write. YOU GOT THIS! A special shout out to Ariana and Kaitlyn, do your best!

21.01.2022 Hi guys. And suddenly it is week 9, almost end of term 2. I am almost finished with my exams and cannot wait to just relax. I just wanted to give you some inspiration...keep up the hard work, finish strong. If you are wanting a spot for term 3, just message me and I will schedule you in.

20.01.2022 Happy new year! School is 2 weeks away and it’s that time of the year when you sit down and start setting some goals for the year. With the new SATE subjects and ATAR requirements, are you on track to achieving your goals? Remember it’s better to ask for help early in, than to struggle through the year and fall short. It’s also important to practice your skills in each subject through revision, that’s why there are textbooks with many practice questions at the end. My avail...ability this year: Friday afternoons: 4-5pm Saturday’s: 11-12pm Or message me with a preferred time and we can work through this (am finalising my own timetable on Monday) Cost is $30 ph. Subjects: General math, Maths Methods, Specialist Math, Biology and Chemistry Let me know how I can help! See more

19.01.2022 School’s out! Time to relax and rejuvenate. I know I am! Take the time to exercise or play some sport, go out with the family for a drive or hang out with friends..and yes, after slogging away at the books, you can play those console games you had to put away! Remember school holidays is also a time to give yourself brain breaks...away from all devices and maybe read a book, take a walk or talk to your mum or dad or even gran....connect with loved ones. Have a safe and happy holiday!

16.01.2022 Hi guys. What a year this is turning out to be! But don’t let the external circumstances dictate how you respond. While the powers that be determine what the school structure will look like ect term, have you done some restructuring yourself? For example, have you got a study area set up? Have you got access to textbooks? Access to teachers even if it’s just emails? You will need this so that you can now setup your own learning goals and become independent learners! And by the time you hit University, you are already set up for what I do . Look for the positives. Enjoy this break with your family, play some board games and get ready for some self motivated learning. I just write 2 online exams this week. Are you ready?

15.01.2022 Parents, this one is for you! Are you involved in your child’s learning? What are you doing to help? We are kids no matter how much we pretend otherwise, so take it from me, get involved and stay involved. My folks have always been invested, and yes I say that because it is an investment, in my life, my future and my well being. I am eternally grateful that they are because if they did not sacrifice the move for a better life, I may not be where I am today. So here is an article for you to have a little read....no matter your child’s age, you can still be involved. https://www.nytimes.com//family/how-to-help-your-child-stu

14.01.2022 Have a wonderful and safe Christmas Day!

14.01.2022 WOW! It is end of week 2 of term 2 already! Well, we are really getting into serious business now. Junior and middle school students would have started new units and have got their results/reports from term 1. Here is hoping you did great. Year 11's well, you would be getting into the crunch end of your unit with the new ATAR system, which means your unit 1 will be wrapping up in the next 2 weeks with maybe a block exam thrown in somewhere there. If so, you should be sticking to that study plan you created in term 1! Year 12's, how to put this without making you freak out....you literally have about 23 weeks of school left. What are your plans? Remember if you can get started sooner on your plan, do it! If you would like some hints and tips on study plans, or how to do them, then drop me a comment below!

11.01.2022 Sending out big congratulations to the graduating class of 2020! It has been a tough year, with many changes but you made it through, stronger, more resilient and hopefully more determined. Wishing you all every success as you take the next step into a new adventure.

11.01.2022 Hey guys. I know how stressful this time is. It’s not fun but just remember it is out of your control. You can only control how you react to it. Keep yourself calm and focus on continuing with your good routines so that when school does start, you can just get right back to it. Check out this site for some help.

10.01.2022 Well I guess dreams do come true....with hard work, grit, determination and goals. You can achieve similar....just never give up. I had back up plans too...

10.01.2022 We have reached what I like to call, the turning point for the Year 12’s. The last hurrah and the last push. If you want to make a difference, it’s up to you. You want a better exit from school, it’s up to you. What your teachers, parents and friends do, is open doors....are you willing to step through it? The same goes for you, in year 11. The ATAR system is not easy especially if you are going the ATAR route. Do you know what you have to do? Hopefully, the year 10’s have wo...rked out their senior pathway with some view of their goals. I say this because, on my walk with the folks yesterday afternoon, we reminisced about my senior years at school, my teachers and my goals. And I was hungry to achieve because in my family, I was surrounded by support and encouragement. They believed and so it made me believe. And that made me positive and persistent. I worked hard, I studied hard. There were no shortcuts....I took the stairs. Now when I look back, I feel proud of finishing school knowing I did it honestly. How will you look back? See more

08.01.2022 It’s Term 3! Here is hoping that your last 2 terms of the year go smoothly and with as little interruptions as possible. Year 12’s this is your crunch time. Time to give it everything you got for your last internal assessment and start that prep for your external assessment. Now is the time to set some goals and work hard. If you are still needing a tutor, please let me know so I can book you in. I have limited times so please let me know as soon as possible. Enjoy your first week back!

07.01.2022 Don't forget to thank the most amazing lady in your life, your mum. Happy mothers day to all our supportive mums

06.01.2022 Another school year coming to an end! If you have already closed for the year, then enjoy the holidays and take a well deserved brain break. Year 12’s this is it! If you have been waiting for your OP, well it’s done. The wait is almost over. I still can remember every second of me refreshing that page over and over again! Remember, if you didn’t get what you were hoping for, take the alternate route, the journey is not over! It is not the end! All the best!

05.01.2022 Hello again everyone! How did the first 2 weeks go? I do hope you have settled in and especially with senior students you are getting your head around the new ATAR system and your SATE subjects. It is going to be very new and yes, a little bit stressful but if you research what the system is and what is expected, talk to as many people as you can and get your parents involved, then you are on a winning path. Here is a link to get you started: https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior

05.01.2022 No way it is already end of week 2, Term 3! What is going on - it seems like we are on fast forward! While I just started back at uni this week, after a 5 week break , I still remember the slog that was Term 3 as it pretty much was a do or die term! All of us who were thinking of pathways in the medical field, that OP1 was a prize we were fighting for. And that is how you must view every challenge - what is that prize waiting for you at the end? Term 3 has many many things Ye...ar 12's need to be ready for - if you are uni bound, QCS is around the corner. QTAC will open and you must get your preferences in before the term is out. Here's a handy hint - if you attended a state school that had a QUT Student with potential nomination, check your emails as you get a voucher to pay for your QTAC application! Year 11's, you will be headed towards a major block exam end of term with the new ATAR units. Year 10's are SETPlanning - take this seriously, I did. It is important to have some goal or at least an idea of what you would like to do - thats the start to selecting the RIGHT subjects to study in your SENIOR YEARS. So, I do have 1 more opening for one student either on a Monday or Tuesday after school, let me know. All new students, please note that the rate now is $30 an hour. Message me if you are interested or need a refresher. See more

04.01.2022 Exam time! I am in the middle of my own uni exam at the moment. Some tips: 1. Have a study timetable 2. Follow the timetable 3. Persevere even if you want to give up - hard work now and play later 4. Put your final goals up in lights if you have to, make it visible. Let people know, let them support you. Yes, nagging is support too... 5. Ask for help - teachers, friends, parents older siblings or GOOGLE Studying is a routine. You build up the habit over time. It becomes routine so when exam time comes up, it does not cause undue stress or panic. All the best to all students starting their mid year exams!
