19.01.2022 I have had interest from an Adelaide movie producer re this book. He suggested I do a rewrite and bump up the involvement of the town crook called The Dragon. the new book is The Opal Dragon. This book starts Ali off in the Philippines where his mother is one of the towns prostitutes. Ali is beaten on numerous occasions by some of theses men. He resorts to crime when he ambushes an elderly jeweler and steals the mans weeks takings and gold and silver. Ali stabs the old man. H...e gets involved in the drug trade ,then murders one of the mafia bosses in a very complicated way. The car the man and his wife are in is set on fire. Ali leaves the Philippines and comes to Australia where he discovers the opal industry at Coober Pedy. He has other people to do his dirty work now On Amazon I have followed this book with a collage of stories with Great White Shark Tales. 16.01.2022 First story in this book follows a fisherman who has the bottom of his boat caved in by a huge White Shark; He is lucky a friend was fishing nearby. Fred was climbing the mast as his boat slid under the waves when his mate came to the sinking boat. Fred always told people he met that he had lived twice.

And now the new story of a Greek lad who came to Australia with his parents and sisters In 1947 to get away from the killing during the Greek civil war. Brothers were killing each other. Communists ...against the Greek government. The family came to South Australia and went to Port Kenny to fish with Nikkis uncles. Nikki went to Coober Pedy when he was nineteen and found a huge fortune. He duped his mate who went with him of his share of four hundred and fourty thousand pounds. 11.01.2022 Opal Eggs of Fire by James Calderwood South Australia was in the third year of a drought in the mid 1980s. Farm income had almost completely dried up and the country was in recession. Interest rates were about 20% and banks were threatening to sell farmers farms. John and Tony Nickols travel to Coober Pedy with their neighbors, Bert and Harry Kelly, to try to save the farm by mining opal. John and Tony find a bonanza seam of opal worth a lot of money. They find a nest of ext...remely rare black opal dinosaur eggs. The local thieves see them dig them up, and make it their aim to steal them. The thieves finally succeed and after the robbery they crash the car with the opal eggs and a case full of a large amount of money. The robbers are jammed in the car. One of the eggs has broken and something has hatched out after 100,000,000 years. It is hungry and has very sharp teeth. Not the sort of baby one would like to give a hug. 02.01.2022 The Opal Eggs Of Fire book came to me after a farming accident where i fell from a high ladder and smashed my right leg. There were seven loose pieces of bone just above my ankle, some poking out from a bleeding wound. The surgeon in Adelaide drilled pins through the bone of my lag and foot then had circular retainers with stainless rods holding the apart to keep my leg straight . The problem was he was a hand doctor and welded my ankle with my foot poking straight out fr...om my leg During the next few months the bone in my leg started to bend. I was seeing a visiting specialist to Port Lincoln. He would just measure how much worse the bend was following the previous visit and say HMMM If i asked questions he would not answer. He did not care. I had a vivid dream one night about the basis to the story of this book. We had been dabbling with opal mining . I had met a lot of farmers who had come tot he opal fields due to low farm produce prices and a drought. Some of these people made much more than they ever could have farming. The morning after the dream i started to write this book in long hand with a pencil in a large folder. I could not do much else with the bolts protruding from my leg. This is where my firs real foray into writing started. The folder laid around for a few years . I took to it and copied the story onto a computer. This helped with some of my spelling errors and a few other problems. When i went to publish i chose a firm called Xlibris which had adds of how good they were all over the web. I ran some checks and found plenty of people who had been ripped off by these people, i stupidly did not listen. These people were not interested in selling books , just ripping off authors with hollow expensive promises. My computer mail was filled with offers if i were to pay a large sum of money,. plus there was a Stephany who rang on the phone on a very regular basis with similar offers. She was impossible to insult. She always had an answer. I eventually re submitted the book to Create Space an Amazon company. Their prices per copy were five times cheaper than Xlibris. There is a message in this for starting Authors. Beware and watch out for unscrupulous publishers. There is a huge lot of them of a similar ilk to Xlibris . Balboa is one and PODG is another. Do not do what i did, DO A SEARCH and listen and believe what you have been told by disgruntled customers from these publishers Jim See more
