12.01.2022 A doctor in Shanghai performed two operations with his left leg in an orthosis after he injured his Achilles tendon five days ago, news portal Thepaper.cn reported. Chen Yunsu, vice-director of the orthopaedics department at the Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital, injured his left ankle playing badminton on the morning of March 15. He underwent surgery on the tendon the next day and rested for the following three days because he was unable to walk, the report said.... On March 20, Chen returned to work with his leg in the hi-tech splint and performed orthopaedic operations. There are so many patients in the hospital and we can save them money if their operations are not delayed due to shortage of surgical staff, Chen said. Some patients come from afar, some have already waited for one or two months, and they cannot afford to long waits for treatment, Chen was not really supposed to stand for long periods after his leg surgery, but he said the modern medical support has greatly helped his recovery. The All Black posted a short video to his Twitter account showing him with his left foot, which is in a moon boot after surgery, strapped to a skateboard to allow him to use a rowing machine.... "Where there's a will, there's a way." Williams suffered a partial rupture of his Achilles in the New Zealand seven side's opening game against Japan at the Rio Olympics last month.
