De...epest sympathies and respects go out to Peter's family and friends from the Sports 2000 community. Peter regularly competed in Historic Racing events with us in his Norax rotary sports car. RIP Peter.

Mallala Motorsport Park opened 59 years ago today Formerly the site of RAAF Base Mallala, the land was purchased by a group of enthusiasts ...and turned into a new venue for the Australian Grand Prix. The first race meeting was held on 19th August 1961, with Bib Stillwell winning the feature race in a Cooper Climax. The circuit later hosted the Australian Grand Prix on 9th October 1961. The track was shortened to its current layout in 1964, and closed in 1971. It was reopened by the legendary Clem Smith in 1980, and has been in continuous use since then! Thank you to everyone who has competed, officiated, or spectated at Mallala in the last 59 years - share your memories and photos in the comments!
