In the last 13 weeks we have enjoyed creating our Open Arms community in Ambarvale, building relationships with families and strengthening our team bond with educators. We had a special educator gathering to begin our community wall. A precious memory captured forever as they share their handprints and those of their own children on our community wall. We can't wait to have our families build on this mural over the coming years! 22.01.2022 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS DAY 2020 Today we celebrated our wonderful educators and the love, care and dedication they have for our centre. Ambarvale has been a part of the OAEEC family for 9 weeks and it has been the perfect fit. Every day it feels like being a part of a welcoming, loving family. Our OAEEC community is stronger with each and every dedicated educator; they are the building blocks to our strong foundation ... We had a wonderful day filled with THANKS! Our children created leaves and flowers for our Educators Garden of Love! Our Dream Team had a special lunch. In the afternoon we had a whole centre celebration. We sang songs, had a certificate ceremony, ate yummy cupcakes (baked by our owners.. Yum!) and said a very big thank-you to our educators. 21.01.2022 Our exclusive Kickstart for Kindergarten program is underway! This program is offered to our children beginning big school in 2021. It offers a range of excursions, incursions, activities, themed days, lunch ordering and so much more. Yesterday we went on an excursion to the field to meet Tom from No Limits Sports pty ltd. 13.01.2022 Grandparents Afternoon Tea On Friday we held a special afternoon tea to celebrate Grandparents Day! Following our Covid Procedures; 1 grandparent was able to attend our afternoon tea, meet the educators and enjoy some light refreshments. We offered some fun activities for our OAEEC kids to do with their grandparent, had a Photo Booth to take a cherished photo and also had a slideshow showcasing the children's days at our centre. ... We made sure our grandparents adhered to centre Covid procedures, signed our declarations and the number of attendees was restricted to abide by covid laws. It was so lovely to be able celebrate with our grandparents; even if this style of event is our new normal Open Arms EEC is a family owned and operated Early Learning Company. 09.01.2022 "At it’s heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Non-Indigenous peoples; for the benefit of all Australians’ - Reconciliation Australia. Last week our OAEEC educators met Jason from Dalmarri. During our inservice we spoke of Aboriginal history, gained knowledge of our local land owners, learnt symbols and their meanings, spoke of dreamtime stories, learnt games to support the education of our ch...ildren and saw local artefacts. We also created a unique mural embracing our philosophy; family, education, inclusion, growth and knowledge. Each educator designed a branch of our tree, writing their own journey and building a connection with us. This marked the beginning of our journey as a team. Open Arms Ambarvale is proud to begin its journey to Reconciliation as we develop our RAP, ensuring it is embedded into all aspects of our centre. We are very lucky to have the knowledge and guidance of Jason and Trevor at Dalmarri and look forward to further consultation and building a strong foundation for reconciliation with our Open Arms Family.
