25.01.2022 Wounded Heart This painting is of two Aboriginal people. One’s strong, got his Law and looks after his country. He keeps Country healthy, plenty of bush tucker and protects his sacred sites. All the time while he’s trying to protect his country he’s got people coming in over the top of his head. Miners in helicopters looking for minerals, tourists in their camper vans and fishermen in their boats. All of them trying to get in to our country. The other fella he’s lost his Law.... He’s given up his country to outsiders, miners and frackers, all for money. All this fella can think of is money, with his fancy boots he stands like a whitefella with no Law and no culture. We got a lot of pressure on us from government and people who want to take our country and stop our Law. This wounds us. It hurts us real bad like taking a spear in the heart of our culture, the heart of our life.

21.01.2022 It’s International Women’s Day and we want to remember all our strong Garawa, Gudanji women. They fight for country, keep culture strong, look after families, hunt, fish, sing, keep language going. We all look up to them and all the hard work they been doing for us.

13.01.2022 Year after year you continue to allow lead and other contaminants to our food chain, lead in our water, lead in our fish lead in the cattle & sulphur dioxide in our lungs. When are you going to stop trying to kill us? https://mobile.abc.net.au//whistleblowers-raise-/10623596

12.01.2022 JG: Since the invasion of our Countries in 1870's, we've been fighting to protect our land, water & people. WE WILL NOT STOP. Proud to see younger generations of our people & their supporters take up the long struggle. https://www.abc.net.au//nt-fracking-protestors-wh/12867700

10.01.2022 The Federal Governments’ failure to form a National Partnership Housing agreement is having a profoundly detrimental impact on families in the Northern Territor...y, particularly here in Borroloola with major overcrowding in homes. With massive Federal cuts to the NT GST of nearly $4Billion dollars, cuts to education and health, families are feeling the economic pain. Infrastructure is impacted in places like Borroloola with residents unable to drink their water at Garrawa 1 and Garrawa 2 Camps due to issues with the bore facility. Elevated levels of lead and manganese have been identified in the water here and residents are receiving water in a truck provided by Mabunji Aboriginal Resource Association.

09.01.2022 Blowfly at the Shops, Jacky Green, 2016 As Aboriginal people we got the right to organise and decide who speaks for Country. That’s our Law. Even though the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples says this, and that the Australian Government agreed when it signed-up, we find it real hard to do this around Borroloola. ... Here, we got some companies who got their people to pick us off, one-by-one. They tryin’ to smash our voice, smash our Law. That’s what this painting is about. Under a smoke-filled sky a person hovers around the shops; pulling people aside, a little meeting here, a bag-full of tucker there, money under the table perhaps. They real busy working to break our Law. They line us blackfellas up, one-by-one, and wear us down so they can get access to our Country and its resources. They always there, buzzing round, just like a blowfly.

06.01.2022 Nancy McDinny: All across our countries whitefellas been rubbing our names out. They been renaming rivers, hills and ridges with the names of the people who been hunting and killing our greatgrandparents. It's time we rubbed them out like the people in America trying to do. We want the real names back the sacred names that come from The Dreaming and we want them back now.

02.01.2022 JG: Sad news. Mrs Lansen, wife of the late Mr Harry Lansen passed away yesterday. She was a great fighter for country, strong women & wonderful singer. We all want to acknowledge her along with our other great warriors Gordon Lansen, Norman Kingsley Harry Lansen.
