21.01.2022 Day 4 of Camp 38 was a day of water and frivolity. As a group we ventured down to the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre. There were laughs, there were splashes and there were cannonballs. We even joined in on the Water Aerobics. That afternoon we put our science hats on and did a volcano experiment that brought glee and wonder and warnings regarding touching "Lava" Dinner was a fabulous display of Mexican cuisine with Chef Tony whipping up the best tacos and burritos that we had ever ...seen. We thought this couldn't be beaten until dessert was brought out..... Churros with chocolate dipping sauce. That night was the Famous Camp 38 Talent show. There were gasps of amazement from the crowd as dance moves were showcased, Transformers Presentations and science demonstrations. The night was topped off with a movie with the kids in the Recreation room until eyes became heavy and they longed for their beds.

15.01.2022 Page 1. How good is that!

13.01.2022 On day 3 we had beautiful weather so we decided to go on a nature based adventure. We explored our own backyard and natural scrubland and collected objects with different smells, touch and looks and designed our very own nature collages We then decided to get MESSY! we created rainbow cream and made rainbows across a large canvas... and then naturally our Family Associates somehow got covered in the stuff! They make more mess than the kids. We then wrapped up the day with a group campfire and a night walk lit by glowsticks. A perfect way to end a busy day!

12.01.2022 Camp 38 is truly in full swing now! Day 1 came and went. New friendships are being made and plenty of fun is being had by all. The rain is easing up and we can't wait to show the families here what our Camp has to offer!

12.01.2022 And that's a wrap. Our very first Camp 38 was a MASSIVE success. We have had the best time ever, met wonderful new friends that will last a lifetime and everyone of our lives has been changed for the better. Our first camp families are already planning their reunion. ... Thank you so much to all our pilot camp families, your support and courage to get involved in our new initiative was invaluable. You are all such wonderful and inspiring people. We cant wait to keep in touch. Our next camp is already in the planning for January 2021.

06.01.2022 Our Camp 38 lounge will provide a recreational space for siblings attending our camp in less than two weeks. We cant wait.

05.01.2022 What a lovely end to our first ever Camp 38! This is our CEO- Adam who has put his heart and soul into making this happen. Thank you on behalf of the whole Open...light community for everything you do for us. The below is from his very proud daughter Lauren who is also a member of our team. Now I’m not normally one to post or brag, but this man deserves both. I can’t even begin to describe how incredibly proud I am of you for your creation of Camp 38 at Openlight. Your drive and determination to create goal focused camps for young people with Autism and their families has been nothing short of amazing. After the huge success of pilot camp, your months of planning and preparation has paid off. I cannot wait to continue to be apart of this amazing program you have created along with all my volunteering buds. As a wise man I know, often says ‘how good is that’ and it sure was good! Thanks for being my biggest inspiration

04.01.2022 What a wonderful weekend for a Camp 38 reunion. Our first camp 38ers back together again. How good is that!

04.01.2022 Day number 2 brought a host of activities for everyone to enjoy. We started off the day with a group obstacle course which provided all giggles and laughter (especially when the parents gave it a go). We were lucky that the weather cleared up and we soaked up every second of sunlight and out came the parachute games. The kids shared many moments of delight as the cuddly rabbits, goats, pigs and more were brought out from our friends at Old Macdonald's Travelling Farms. Paren...ts and Children alike shared a tender moment cuddling up with a rabbit and lamb. After a delicious meal provided by Chef Tony, we let the parents have some quiet time in front of the fireplace and the kids gathered in our Recreation Room for a movie night.

03.01.2022 13 sleeps until the first Camp 38. The Openlight team is looking forward to welcoming our first families. We cant wait.
