20.01.2022 Bendigo Bank users beware!

18.01.2022 Australians have been warned not to click on "high-risk" Australian Taxation Office scam emails, which have hit inboxes across the country this morning. Details of a large-scale malicious email impersonating the ATO have been revealed, with thousands of messages distributed nationwide - each with a unique link, making it hard for anti-virus software to detect the bulk email as suspicious. http://www.arnnet.com.au//high-risk-ato-scam-email-hits-/

13.01.2022 Beware of New Celebrity Sex Tape (Scam) Leaked on Facebook! If you came across a celebrity sex video on Facebook featuring Jessica Alba or any other celebrity, just avoid clicking it. Another Facebook scam is circulating across the social networking website that attempts to trick Facebook users into clicking on a link for a celebrity sex tape that instead downloads malware onto their computers.... Once installed, the malware would force web browsers to display aggressive advertising web pages which include sites with nudity and fake lotteries. original article: http://thehackernews.com/2016/12/facebook-scam-malware.html

09.01.2022 UPDATE 18th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/internode/posts/10153936269444178 UPDATE 17th March: Please see our update https://www.faceboo...k.com/internode/posts/10153931630629178 UPDATE 15th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/internode/posts/10153926363809178 UPDATE 13th March: Please see our update https://www.facebook.com/internode/posts/10153916804409178 Important notice for Internode customers in Tasmania - Impending degradation of service for customers in Tasmania. Customers in Tasmania may be aware that the Basslink cable between Tasmania and Victoria failed last December, leaving the state unable to import or export power. This is in need of repair by Basslink. Part of this repair process by Basslink will involve taking the fibre-optic cables supplying telecommunications services to the region offline. During this repair process Internode customers will experience a degraded service with capacity on the links that transfer telecommunication services to the region reduced. We have implemented an alternate solution for the duration of these repairs, however it is important to note this will provide limited capacity for Internode customers. Impacted services will include all broadband services such as ADSL, Naked and NBN technologies. Customers that have Phone services with Internode, including NodePhone VoIP and NBN Enhanced Fibre phone, will also be impacted however mobile services should not be affected. Whilst Internode is not in control of the repair process we are working with our provider to ensure updates are available on our website and social media pages throughout the repair process, once we understand the full extent of the impact we will also communicate with all of our customers regarding applicable downtime credits to their normal Internode billing.

09.01.2022 So what I have heard, Internode, Iinet and TPG's group of ISP's will be on and off while they fix the Basslink due to fact they don't have an agreement with Telstra so they are getting the lowest priority via Telstra's links to the mainland (none is this is confirmed) but Both Internode and Iinet have been really flaky today. is anyone else having issues? http://www.themercury.com.au//3195ece85f8afe06ac12ba137295

09.01.2022 Last week Brad mentioned malware being delivered via word documents in SPAM. Seems like this morning there was another run. Subjects vary and the messages vary slightly, the end result is however nasty. All have word attachments. Subjects Seen: "Transaction", "LM Transaction" , "ENA Invoice" Content:... Good morning Please find the payment details enclosed with this message. The Payment should appear on your account within 1 day. Regards Steel Potts ------------------------------------------------- Hello Please review the invoice enclosed with this email. The Payment should appear on your account within 1 day. Kindest regards Jackson Blackwell ------------------------------------------------- Greetings Please find the receipt attached to this email. The Payment should appear on your bank in 1-2 days. Best regards Guy Roman ------------------------------------------------- These are of course not a definitive list of subjects, but the pattern is fairly clear. It may be an opportunity for some user education, especially those in your organisation whose job it is to click on attachments. 09.01.2022 Another round of new spam emails. Don't forget if you use an email provider like Gmail to mark these messages as "phishing" emails to report them. (See attached screenshots)

07.01.2022 We had an email going around today which was designed to collect as many email addresses and passwords as possible. once you clicked on the link it looked the google login screen and then once you type in your user/pass it asks for your recovery phone number/email address (see attached images).. be careful when clicking on links/attachments from emails.

06.01.2022 Looking for some new protection software?, This is a great deal and I highly recommend anyone who hasn't already purchased this software to do so. if you need a hand let us know.

03.01.2022 Good to know! thanks Tasmania Police

03.01.2022 This morning I received an email from ASIC about our business registration with a link to the Renewal Letter and it looked legit. After some searching and investigating, it turns out that this is a SCAM but has been made to look very legit. if you get this email, please delete it and don't click on the links. There was a slight error in the email where they missed a space between 2 words, but apart from that it looks very legit.... The URL's that the hyperlinks point too are also suspicious. also here is a link to another article: http://www.mailguard.com.au//dont-click-cybercriminals-imp Australian Securities and Investments Commission
