13.01.2022 Great news story about a feisty night at the opera. Pic is of Virgilio Marino, a fine Brisbane & Sydney-based Italian-Australian tenor ( who worked with us in a few concerts years ago ). The other 2 of course are Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. We have seen such feisty reactions to standing ovations also at La Scala, where many locals don't approve of 'Standing O's ' as they block the view of the stage for the older patrons. Of course, they never ended in the police being called ! ot sure if it is 'opera snobbery' rather than a generational difference. Anyway, tradition is not abad thing. Feel free to comment ! https://www.smh.com.au//high-drama-when-nic-and-keith-went

07.01.2022 Further to the pic of the piano that Puccini used to use, here is Cafe de Simo these days. Sad to see it closed and has been for 3 or 4 years. #cafedesimo #lucca #puccini #giacomopuccini #torredellagopuccini

07.01.2022 Having a day listening to this stunning voice. If you recall Antonio Nicolosi who we brought out from Rome a few years back...he studied with del Monaco's brother - a well-known teacher in Naples. A beautiful panorama too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV0z6HCnpcs
