24.01.2022 For many in Melbourne, this lockdown has been challenging. Suddenly, we weren’t allowed to go outside much. Imagine what it would be like if it was always this? Trapped indoors because it’s too dangerous to go outside. For many of the kids living in the public housing estates, that’s what their life is always like due to the perceived dangers of the area. That’s why Operation Stitches is so important. For many kids living in the estates, the only time they can come outside and play and feel safe is when Operation Stitches is running their events and programs. #operationstitches #stitcheskids

As many of you know, Operation Stitches is a non-profit dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and families living in Melbourne's inner-city public housing estates. We provide free educational and recreational activities as well as food donations, community events and ...more with the aim of discouraging drugs, violence, crime, alcohol, suicide, gangs and racism. In 2016, we were forced to close our Richmond headquarters due to a lack of funding. However, our founders, Patrick and Chris, refused to give up on the families of the inner-city public housing estates. We relocated to Collingwood and have re-established some of our programs here. Now, our goal is to raise enough money to reopen our Richmond base. If you are able to, we would welcome any contribution to assist in achieving this goal. Donate via the link in our bio.
