21.01.2022 FEEL GOOD FRIDAY MOMENT We send out Sunshine Packs in the knowledge there will be a child somewhere in the state receiving it and it will bring them comfort and joy. Although we won’t see it, knowing a child is benefiting from the work we do is enough to drive us and keep the good work going. However, it is particularly heartwarming when we receive a gift from one of the children who has received a Sunshine Pack. ... Today we received this gorgeous picture sent to us from Miss 8! Miss 8 entered foster care shortly before Christmas. She was thrilled to receive a Sunshine Pack but even more delighted when a Christmas gift from Operation Sunshine arrived on Christmas morning To our entire Sunshine Community, THANK YOU! As the picture says, you are amazing, thank you for bringing happiness to Miss 8 and all the children receiving Sunshine Packs and Christmas gifts because of your donations

18.01.2022 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, marking the beginning of the Department of Communities 16 Days in WA Campaign. For 16 days in November and December, the community is invited to take a part in a major effort to encourage change to stop violence against women. Now in its fourth year, 16 Days in WA draws inspiration from the global movement for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence to drive a change in culture, behaviour ...and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children. You are invited to create change during the campaign to educate, motivate and advocate in your community, and stand up to stop violence against women. Together we can make a difference.

17.01.2022 WEEKLY DONATIONS POST Another great week of donations this week. Thank you to all of our incredible supporters for the continued support.

12.01.2022 An average of three children are taken into out-of-home care each day in Western Australia. Often taken without warning, leaving everything and everyone they know, with nothing but the clothes on their back. They don’t have clean underwear or a change of clothes, or their favourite teddy to comfort them at night. It is a highly traumatic experience and leaves the child feeling alone, scared, and extremely vulnerable. Operation Sunshine need your help to ensure every child ent...ering care receives a Sunshine Pack full of essential and comfort items to help relieve some of the uncertainty children face at such a traumatic time, giving them a sense of self worth, comfort, and preserving their dignity. What you can do to help: choose a size and gender and create a full Sunshine Pack purchase items to go in a Sunshine Pack (brand new items only-list in photos) make a cash donation and we will do the shopping for you like our page and INVITE your friends to like us too. start a collection at work, with friends or family share this post and help spread the word to help more children in need.

11.01.2022 What better feedback to share today than that from a courageous mumma who has had to escape a domestic violence situation. At a time when we are even more focused on advocating against domestic and family violence it is wonderful to be receive feedback like this and know we are making a positive impact in the lives of the people we support. "Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for the Courage Kits and Sunshine Packs we received from you guys , the kids loved the activities inside and fell asleep with their new cuddly toys , it was really amazing to be given such a beautiful and generous pack of goodies after having to leave so much behind , you are amazing operation sunshine! You made my day, and seeing the kids smile and be so excited to open Their packs was priceless "

06.01.2022 Kindness on World Kindness Day I delivered this order of 31 Courage Kits to a women’s shelter this afternoon. My children helped me load them in the car, then as we were unloading some girls staying in the refuge arrived back from school and helped us unload and bring into the centre. ... I hope everyone has done something kind for someone else and had something kind done for them

01.01.2022 Some sunshine on a rainy day 60 Sunshine Packs delivered to a women’s shelter for children and young people escaping family violence. It can be extremely hard for a woman to get out of a violent situation and leave everything behind in order to be safe. This is only magnified when that woman has children to protect and they also have to leave their belongings, school, and friends behind too. ... Sunshine Packs can’t fix the issues that led to the child entering crisis accommodation but they can help make the transition a little bit easier. And bring a bit of joy at a traumatic time

01.01.2022 Sunday Sponsor Shout Out Xceed Real Estate take the hard work out of buying and selling houses and help property investors by providing a stress free property management experience. They also help bring joy to children and young people in out-of-home care as they did when they donated $5,000 to our 2020 Christmas Appeal!!!!... The incredible donation from Xceed gave us the money needed to ensure all of our wishlists were completed and we could afford the transport required to get gifts to children in regional areas. If you are in the market to buy or sell a house, or need property management on an investment property give the team at Xceed a call. LIFE IS BETTER WITH XCEED!
