24.01.2022 HOME GAMES 1.5.21 It was amazing being able to have all our teams play one after the other this afternoon / tonight and have our Chargers families and team members all supporting and cheering each other on. Our Women’s Rugby team got to lead us out into today’s games and was amazing having them being able to play before our boys. Having all 3 teams in one day will be a rarity as our Women normally play Sundays. So a game day to remember having all 3 sides together for us at ...the Chargers. Our teams all supporting one another is what makes the Chargers the Chargers family it is. We couldn’t be prouder of all of our teams that played today was fantastic watching you all. Thank you yet again to all our Committee members who go above and beyond week in and week out and all our players who help each and every home game with all the days runnings. You all know how much we appreciate it and all makes for a great day of ease with all your help and all the great friendships being formed. Looks like another bbq catch up for us all again soon. We just loved the Music playing and cheering teams out from the sheds. Our Chargers Guards for one another which we were lucky enough to have our members making sure they captured the moment. Thank you to Camden and Appin for some great games today. Thank you to all the supporters who cheer on each and every team which makes for some amazing footy. GO CHARGERS

14.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS UNDER 18’s COACH details We would like to welcome another amazing coach to the Seniors this year being BEN TAYLOR ... I have lived in the Camden area for 20 years and have been a resident of Oran Park since 2011. My family loves living here and watching our community continually grow and develop, particularly the Oran Park Chargers at both their Junior and Senior levels. I am a very passionate supporter of Rugby League and have been involved in the sport for over 40 years both as a player and coach. In my earlier years, I captained an A grade side to a premiership. I have been part of the Camden Rams Juniors for the past 11 years where both my sons (16 and 14) still play. I have been a coach at the Camden Rams Juniors for the past 9 years concentrating mainly on player development. (16B’s in 2019 Semi Finalists) I am currently a Camden Rams Junior Committee member and one of their coaching coordinators. I am currently a trainer for the GSR Wests Tigers U16’s team working closely with Rep Coaches. I am in the process of obtaining my Level 2 coaching certificate and am always looking to improve my coaching experience any way I can. I am an accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer. I enjoy being part of Group 6 rugby league, watching both Juniors and Seniors competitions flourish each year. I am looking forward to being part of a club that continues to grow and am excited to take my coaching experience to a new level with the Chargers. Ben Taylor

13.01.2022 UPDATE FOR THE 2020 SEASON Grassroots Rugby League set to re-start in NSW in July Wednesday 22 April 2020... The New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) Board today established a plan to work towards a re-start of Rugby League activities from July 2020 to coincide with a common return date for some other winter sports across the state and the commencement of term 3 in the school year. NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said the decision to work towards a shortened Community Rugby League season and a re-start of other abbreviated senior competitions from 18 July 2020 will be further reviewed and confirmed on 1 June 2020 subject to the existing Government advice available at the time. Trodden said today’s decision took into consideration the NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order 2020 which is currently preventing sport from being conducted and expires at midnight on 29 June 2020 (unless further extended). Accordingly, the earliest possible return date is 30 June 2020, unless the NSW Government decides to lift the Public Health order earlier, Trodden said. Most winter sports favour working towards a return date of 18 July 2020, at the end of the next school holiday period, with a return to training on 1 July 2020, subject to the status of the public health in the interim. The Board and Management of NSWRL have been continuing to closely monitor developments with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to strictly follow the Government advice so that we will only return to playing footy when it is deemed safe to do so. The NSWRL and everyone in our Rugby League community need to be responsive to the continual changes to the Government advice around risks to public health for the broader community, and if it becomes apparent that a July start date is not feasible, we will adjust and reassess. The decision to work towards starting Rugby League competitions from 18 July 2020, and to resume training from 1 July 2020, applies to the following: Community Football, involving more than 100,000 boys, girls, men and women across the state to commence. The 2020 season was originally due to commence 4 April when it was postponed in March. All Clubs and Leagues are encouraged to continue to take registrations beyond the traditional 30 June registration cut-off date. Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield competitions to resume; and Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership to commence. One round of Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield had been played when the competitions were suspended on 27 March.
